TOH fankids that I’ve had the ideas for for years, but only just now finalized their designs/concepts~ better late than never ig ✨

(my designs for lumity + raeda so these designs make more sense + more info about these guys under the cut!)

some basic summaries:

Celeste is a pastel goth diy queen who definitely makes plushie & lps customs. She makes a lot of things actually: polymer clay crafts, crochet plushies & clothes, kandi creations, candles, soap, her own slimes even, you name it. She’s an introvert who loves to curl up with a good book, with at least 5 candles lit & incense burned each around her room to set the proper mood. She also most definitely has a collection of bath bombs that she barely actually uses. She’s really nice but needs a lot of alone time to be sane & function properly. Her choice in tracks is very much due to her love of various self-made crafts.

Manny is a super energetic & talkative kid. He has a million thoughts a second & wants to try, do, & be everything. This sometimes causes him to, usually unwittingly, get into trouble, but he’s a very sweet kid who always means well. He’s a very enthusiastic over-achiever who wants to know everything about everything. “Because I said so” is his least favorite phrase in the English language. Since he’s so young & wants to do & be quite literally everything, he doesn’t have a super strong sense of his own interests yet, but he loves art, similar to how his sister loves crafts.

Octavia is a kind, shy, soft-spoken soul. Her number one aspiration is to be a singer-songwriter, & she’s currently top of her class in the bard track. She struggles with socializing a little, coming off as awkward & a bit high strung sometimes, to certain people, but she truly does want to build deep, meaningful connections with others. It’s just more difficult for her than it seems to be for her peers. She also absolutely loves palismen (more than people at times) & couldn’t wait to carve her own for the longest time. She’s one of the people who helped Celeste carve hers too.

s’more tidbits:

- Celeste is autistic & both Manny & Octavia have AuDHD

- Octavia has a weaker, more indirect version of Eda’s curse, but she still has to take elixirs every day & monitor her magic use

- Celeste & Manny have weaker natural magic than mono-species witches do, so they also rely on unnatural forms of magic (mainly potions in Celeste’s case & glyphs in both her & Manny’s)

- to avoid over exerting her magic, Octavia also uses glyphs alongside her natural magic

- I haven’t designed them yet, but Octavia’s palisman is a hummingbird named Humphrey, Celeste’s is a fruit bat named Peaches, & Manny is passed down Toast from Dell as his palisman

Happy one year since Artemis’ name was revealed — and Sweet Child O’ Mine wrapped.

I’ve been getting back into drawing using a combo of procreate tutorials and Kyri 45s amazing drawing classes (slowly getting through the modules).

I’m thinking about how Artemis would just see Hunter’s scars as part of him and not fully understand the weight they hold for her papa.

To Artemis, they are papa’s “liger stripes”. She might talk about them and at first it would make Hunter a bit sad but eventually her love of all of him would frame them differently. Still bittersweet, but he’d understand that they are (as Willow might tell him) a testament to his kindness and the love he’s passed on through Flapjack’s gift.

One day Artemis will know the whole story, but for now, this is good.
