could you tell us about the inside/around of the Owl House? Like details, or floor plan etc.
Loved your rambling! Hope we'll get to hear more about your DR :)
EEEE IM SO GLAD YOU ASKED!! THANK YOU ANON
So I’m certainly not an architect, but I’ve found some images which might help explain.
Here I've annotated an image showing the four levels of the house.
Level 1 has things like the Kitchen, Living room (it's technically living!!!), weapons room (shed), and potions room.
Level 2 has Luz's room, the bathroom, terrace entrance, and boring store rooms I won't talk about.
Level 3 has Eda's room, storage rooms, and a study/ library.
The Basement has more storage rooms (Eda is not a minimalist by any means) and Hooty's tunnel of love.
However the show is rather inconsistent with it's layout of the house. I believe that Hooty can manipulate the house, like the Casa from Encanto, which would explain the inconsistencies.
You'll also notice the house has 5 different entrances/ exits! The Hooty door, the window door on the potions room terrace, the shed door, a secret exit tunnel from the basement, and the back door in the kitchen. This was done to make sure that if the house was ever invaded, everyone could leave safely, no matter where they were.
Above is a reference image by Steven Sugar (or so pinterest claims, I have no clue. If anyone knows the original creator lmk!!) It shows a lot of the scale of the house.
The room in the above image is the potions room! Here it's been hijacked by Hooty and King, but it's the potion room. You can enter this room from a door next to the pantry in the Kitchen.
Speaking of the kitchen, here's the Kitchen!
The archway on the Left leads to the main hallway. The Door under the flour pot and giant bone is the Potion room door. There's the giant window leading to the backyard out of frame here. The camera is at the door in this photo.
Side note: Have you noticed there's no electric light bulbs seen in the demon realm? That's because Electricity hasn't been discovered yet! Light spells or Candles are more used instead.
This is the Weapons room. I always thought this was in the shed, but here it's connected to the second level hallway. If you believe in the hooty house control theory, that would explain this. Either way, weapons room!! This room is usually locked so King doesn't get in.
There is also a bathroom on the second level, one door away from Luz's room. It's never seen in the show though, so I don't have a photo. It's that small window on the second level of the house. Hooty has no sense of privacy, so I encourage that if you shift here you invest in curtains for that window.
Luz has the cutest room in the whole wide world. You'll notice King's dog bed, with the bone decal. He doesn't always sleep there, but sometimes he will. Eventually Luz will get an actual bed to sleep on, but while she's 14 she sleeps in a sleeping bag. Eda doesn't find this weird. She doesn't know how humans are supposed to sleep, and she sleeps in a nest so it's not like she's 'normal' either.
King's closet, level 3. King slept here until Luz came along. Out of frame there's pillows and stuffed animals. The potions in this room aren't dangerous, so King's perfectly safe. He was originally put in the cleaning closet because Eda heard pets make mess and wanted to be able to clean it without going back up and down the stairs over and over again.
Side note: Eda has so many traffic cones because she stole them from the emperor's coven. They were trying to close roads and paths were people would usually trade unlicensed goods (basically wild witches selling stuff without being in the coven that lets you sell it.) Eda just started taking the traffic cones and selling them; so people could block whatever paths they liked, and it would look official. Eventually the Emperor's Coven had lost so many traffic cones they gave up on closing the paths. She kept the leftovers in the cleaning closet.
Lastly, Eda's room! I love her room so much. I don't really have much to say about it, other than it's cool.
Lastly there's the tower. It's technically not attached to the house. I'm not sure what's in there, but I assume more rooms and shelves full of stuff. Eda LOVES keeping stuff.
Thanks again for the ask!! :D
