Isn't this an information blog? The concrete foundation of being FTM is that it is a condition. People should have to go to therapy. Therapy is good for you. You are stigmatizing therapy and conditions further by acting like its some OHNO terrible ordeal to go through, when in fact most people have to go through therapy when they get major surgery. If nothing else, having a therapist is really good for the depression you get after surgery. Please take down that petition which doesn't benefit us.

I apologize for that post and I will remove it for you.  You are right, it isn't very useful information.  I do see being FTM as being a condition but I still personally think that certain rare situations should not need a therapist's note for surgery (i.e. If someone were to live as a male for over 5 years and has a job where not a lot of time is allotted for therapy.  In that case along with some other factors, I believe that a note should not be required and only a record of the time the person has lived as so.)  I did not intend to stigmatize the therapy and condition.  I don't believe that therapy is a terrible ordeal to go through and never said it was.  I just think some situations should allow some leeway once a certain period of time as living as trans has passed.  I am also concerned with the possibility of the therapist trying to pass off the condition as nothing more than a mental illness and try to treat it as a delusion.  In other words, misdiagnosis.The post specifies the ability to request and I perceived that as simply the ability to request for such leeway rather than absolutely not requiring a note.  I must have been wrong.People should definitely go to a therapist for this condition if they can and in the case of depression.  Again, I apologize for this and will remove the post for you.  Thank you for notifying me of the faults of that post.-Emil
