Here we are, Chapter 5 of my Tokka compilation thingy... I literally cannot believe I’m already on Chapter 5 but STILL can’t get my ass up and make myself go to the store. I’m a lazy adult. This one is spicyyyyyy... but also not. Short and sweet.
Setting: Fire Nation, the Palace, 2 years after Chapter 4.
Toph 22, Sokka 27.
The Fire Nation seemed to hold their secrets. It was a mutual ground between Earth and Water that protected them from the outside, kept their secrets safe, and what they did amongst one of those well-kept secrets.
They fell to their backs in a satisfied heap. Toph roll off of Sokka from where she straddled his hips with the last bit of energy she had left. Her head buzzed and pulsed with each breath.
Both panting in wordless agreement of their shared satisfaction. Sokka breathed heavily then smiled, chest heaving as he ran both hands up through the front of his hair.
A goofy smile plagued both of their lips, pure bliss coursed through their veins and flooded their brains, overloading every last nerve with pleasure. Anything said within this time was merely a by-product of the engulfing sensations wracking their bodies.
This too was a cause for their silence.
Sokka lay on the right side of the bed with Top to his left, the covers had been kicked or thrown or had met some other form of unceremonious demise on the floor.
His balcony door was open, the deep red curtains fluttered inward, tickled by the sweet night air. It cooled their bodies, acting as a different kind of cover as it settled over the sheen of sweat covering them both.
Toph moved the hair out of her face entirely, and met her left hand over Sokka's right which he had comfortably rested on her belly. He released a very content sigh, his other hand resting on his chest.
His smile never faded, even now as he looked up at the ceiling.
"How are you feeling?" Sokka asked, voice barely above a whisper.
Toph drew out her answer, as though she let every syllable of his question hit her individually and distinctly.
With a weak laugh, she said "I'm completely numb."
Her index finger danced on top of Sokka's hand, still braced on her stomach.
"Good." He turned only slightly to gage her face, the silly smile playing at her lips told him that she was as happy as he was.
She glistened in the moonlight, her bare breasts rose and fell as her breathing steadied itself. His brain was still in a frenzy, the air was thick, even with the breeze, and he was cloaked in her. Wrapped in her scent, her touch, her lips, her hair. The imprint she left on him felt like she had earth bent him into the side of a damn mountain; it all slammed into him. A jolt of sensation shot through him as his body remembered a glimpse of her embrace, of what they had just done.
He craved more but could not move; his arms were lead, his legs paralyzed on the bed. Move and he may collapse.
Toph's body was the same boneless, immobile slag of rocks. The only adequately moving part of her was her heart as it recovered from the past few hours.
There would be soreness, and there would be an ache, but she would not feel it; not now, not for a few more hours.
Sokka skated his fingertips up and down along her stomach, taking time to dip and trace along her navel, tickling her.
Toph stiffened and released a shaky gasp, too weak to laugh.
"We should do this more often." She breathed, it made Sokka's eyes widen a bit and his eyebrows raise.
He nodded with a gulp, "We should."
He found Toph's hand as she wove it through her still-damp hair. Entwining their fingers he brought the back of her hand to his lips, leaving a lingered kiss on her skin.
"…. I miss you." She closed her eyes.
Sokka squeezed her hand, his chest tightening at her words. He looked off past the ceiling and into his own thoughts. He pressed his lips back to her hand, keeping it there while he thought.
He whispered against her skin. "I miss you too."

Heyo, here is the first chapter of my Tokka work. I also published it on my ff.net (Prue2146)
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Oh yes, here we are again. You know what’s up, I know what’s up, yes, I have a final to complete but this takes president because I am young and impulsive. Ohhh boiiiiii * rubs hands together*
This is going to be a compilation of isolated incidents where Toph and Sokka's friendship evolves as time goes on and as they grow as individuals within the confines of four walls. These interactions are solely interpersonal, without the influence of other members of the gaang so as to eliminate social hive-minding behavior. The time when each interaction occurs will be recorded at the top of the story as it is not chronological.
Set in the Avatar Universe. Maybe eventually be a lil lemoney... but gratuitous devil’s tango is not the point here.
Setting: In the Fire Lord’s Palace for meetings with Zuko and the gang. Most of the group is back together. In this verse confirmed Zuko is “secretly” * snorts” in a thing with Suki. Suki and Sokka ended years ago, and Sokka throws himself into his work but hasn’t found anything. He has, however, been close with Toph for years and she has developed quite the unshakable thing for him, something he reciprocates and has shown throughout the years. Each chapter will be a time in the past starting from when she was 17 that it started showing.
Toph is 20, Sokka is 25, respectively.
Enjoy! Let me know what you think, constructive criticism is welcomed.

I could see Katara and Aang retire to their rooms, next to each other, Katara walking to the far wall and using the doorway behind the bookcase to walk into Aang’s room. Good idea on Zuko, pat on the back for thinking that through.
I averted my mind to the other end of the hallway, far down at the corner, he was taking off his shirt in front of the balcony windows, looking out. His sword was lent against the wall next to his bed. Then he let his hair down, shaking it out, and collapsing onto the bed, grabbing a book off of his nightstand.
I was bored. Perhaps he was too.
With a half-thought formed I stood up and walked out of my room. My hair was loose, and I was in my bed-clothes. Just a giant shirt that brushed above my knees. The palace in the summer was unbearably hot.
I passed by Aang’s door, sure to steer close to the far wall to make minimal noise as I did so. The palace was teeming with life up and down its vast halls. The building, although not to anyone else, was humming with life.
I made knocked on the door, feeling his sit up a bit on his elbows before inviting me in.
“ Oh, hi Toph.” He put the mark back in the book and closed it.
“ Hey, whatcha reading?” I closed the door softly behind me and stood at the foot of his bed, arms crossing, relaxed.
“ About the Spirit Library, Zuko lent it to me from his library.”
The thought of the library brought back the memories. I shrugged it off, the past is just that. “How interesting, probably can’t compare to the real thing, huh?”
Sokka ran his fingers through his hair, undoubtably aware of the unease I have towards the library.
“Getting chased around by a giant owl? Oh yea, nothing quite like it.” As he spoke he patted the spot next to him.
I chuckled and moved up the bed. “I’m sure.”
We rearranged ourself as I got situated. Tucking the tail of my shirt under my butt I tucked my legs back and lent my weight onto my side so to lean on him. Sokka raised his knee to bend so that I could table my forearm across it and rest my chin there. He looked up at me from his reclined position on some pillows. He was smiling, when he did his eyes crinkled on the corners and his cheeks rose.
His right hand raised and suspended my bangs away from my face, and there he kept the closed-mouth smile on his face.
“You were our hero that day.”
His words were sincere but mentally 'rolled my eyes'.
“ Not all of us, you know.” I reached up to hold his wrist but he didn’t let my hair fall back, ignoring my tug.
He shook his head slightly and slowly.
“ Oh hush you. You kept an entire library up against spirit world magic. Pretty heroic if you ask me.”
I didn’t respond but he kept staring. “ You know what I mean.”
“Yea yea..” I felt his heart beating as I held his wrist, it seems that he grew into a man all of a sudden. Two years ago he was still growing into himself and now he was some tall, muscular, young man with the same goofiness to him.
It also seems that we came to embrace each other more often all of a sudden as well, it wasn’t uncommon I come to his room or he come to mine or stay in each other’s. There was something burning just below the surface, something that I think we both knew but the other was too stubborn and maybe a little unsure to explore.
The casual indecency of our friendship made it all the more intriguing to everyone, what was going on in within these walls? It was always fun to hear the whispers and the questions I would get from even Katara. She hears whispers too, you know.
As Sokka slayed his palm on my cheek I sighed into it, we didn’t do anything, should anyone ever ask.
I closed my eyes as his thumb swept across the apples of my cheeks.
“. . . Sokka?”
He almost purred back, “Yes?”
“ . . . Are you going to stare at me all night or tell me something.”
“ Depends. What do you want to me to tell you?”
The firecrickets were thrumming outside as his room overlooked a large courtyard. An occasional breeze of cooler air came in through the open windows. The palace grounds were much quieter than Yu Doa, much more peaceful.
I shrugged, “ Whatever you wanna talk about.”
Sokka’s hand was big and warm as it cupped my whole cheek almost to my chin. It made my entire body warm, not that it needed to be in this summer heat.
“ Well,” He paused in thought for a moment, looking at the books on his side table “I’ve been reading about the Spirit Library, and a book about Avatar Kyoshi, did you know that she was 7 feet tall?”
“Wow, she must have been scary.” I set my chin up on my arm, my face not facing his but towards the window to catch the occasional breeze.
“I can’t imagine someone that tall. She’s like a human building.” His hand moved off of my face to rest on my knee, scooting my other hand away to sit his just above my knee where my nightshirt stopped.
I smiled, funny, Sokka. “How’ve you been? I can tell you’ve been training more. Why? Got a new girl?”
What I couldn’t see was Sokka’s eyes scanning over me. He was examining my face as, which was lit in the moonlight right over my useless eyes. His gaze swept over my shoulder and down to the outline of my chest against his knee, my hair fell over my shoulder as well, long enough to sit on.
“Me? Oh you know, a bit more here and there, gotta keep these muscles up so I don’t disappoint the ladies.” He was being humorous, of course, the tips of his fingers no skating along the span between my knee and nightshirt on my upper thigh, light as air.
I raised an eyebrow, going along with it.
“Oh, can’t let that happen. Big, strong Southern Water Tribe warrior must have all the girls lining up.”
“Yea, well.” He tucked the piece of hair I blew out of my face back behind my ear. “I don’t have a special someone.” His voice was more somber now, that remark had a sadness to it that I felt for him.
“You’ll find the right one, one day. Who can resist you, ponytail?” I smiled and faced towards him. He smiled back.
“Maybe one day.” His hand found its place back on my leg, running his fingertips and nails up and down the small expanse of exposed skin. ”Do you?”
“Don’t you worry about me. I’m far too busy.” a cheeky grin on my face. What were we doing?
He matched me, “You mean that you haven’t fallen in love with me yet?” The feather-light touches turned into a hold on my thigh. This was different.
“Please, you? Why would I love a goofy noodle-armed pony-tail guy?”
“ Heyyy, I’m not noodle-armed anymore! You said so!”
“Even more a reason to find a Mrs. Sokka. Besides, the real question is how you haven’t fallen in love with the greatest earth bender of all time. Plenty of men clamber over each other to gawk at me on the daily.” I poked a finger at him.
“Whoever said I haven’t?”
With that he sucked all the air out of the room. Dead air hung between us. He took my shock as an opportunity, one I was too stunned to fight. One I let happen.
He pushed himself up with his right hand as he grasped my pointing hand by the wrist in his left and lent into me.
I felt his lips so close to mine as he waited to see if I would fling him out of the nearest window or crush him completely between the two walls. I almost let it, so close to it, my heart pounding in my ears, his heart going a mile a minute. Just as his lower lip brushed mine I pulled out of reach. Just out of the way.
That.. that can’t be at all true.. but his heartbeat told me it was. You can love people in many different ways, what way did he? Heat rose to my cheeks as I flushed, as unsure as I’ve ever been, suddenly feeling like I was submerged in the water unable to swim or earthbend my way through it.
At that Sokka offered no protest. Letting go of my wrist he drew his arms up in surrender.
“I’m sorry- I” He stammered as he sat up completely.
“ Sokka,” I said curtly. Make up my mind. What I want I could have, I wasn’t sure what I felt. If he wasn’t kidding then I can’t let him think I felt the same. Or is this what I’ve felt? This reverence, this deep respect for the man who saved my life on an airship, my best friend, my closest confidant, was this love that I had for him?
Yes, of course, but the kind that made me want him physically? More than I wanted to admit to myself I wanted to feel what it would feel like to have his mouth on mine and his hands on me, setting me on fire.
In this isolated moment, in the isolation and safety of four walls, yes, because within these four walls I’m not myself and who I need to be. I’m just his Toph and he is my Sokka; this wildly insane meat-heat of a man
I nearly laughed, grasping his chin between my thumb and fingers.
“ Knew it.”
He grabbed my hip and the space between my jaw and behind my ear, as he was much taller than me he towered as he leaned down to kiss me. A simple moment, one that kept going and going as one turned into 2 kisses to 3. When I pushed back into him, the tip of his tongue swept across my bottom lip.
He tasted like the liquor he drank before retiring to his room, not entirely unpleasant.
He pulled away, “Really?”
I snickered, “Have you met me??”
Sokka’s chuckle reverberated deep in his chest, perhaps the sexiest sound I’ve heard him make.
“Ohh yeah, I’ve met you.” His hands swept under my butt to the back of my thighs and pulled me onto his lap.
The only thing I’ve been consistent on in the past... well, at since 2017. Isn’t that sad? Here is Chapter 3 of my Tokka fic “Within These Walls”.
In the wake of my own crumbling relationship of 3+ years, I have hope that somewhere in the atla-verse (lol like a pocket universe we spoke into existence) at least some people are happy somehow.
I would really appreciate feed-back on my writing. Thank you all!
Enjoy,

Part 1 Part 2
There wasn't anything out there as far as she could see. The wind was so loud in her sensitive ears it was deafening. She wasn't used to the cold, growing up in Ba Sing Se it was warm all year round. Her nose was numb with frost and the hair in her face was caked in snow. The thick fur around her hood muffled the whip of the arctic wind but did very little to clear the air. It was impossible to hear her travel partner, and currently, the man that was her eyes.
She knew they were in the village just outside of where they landed on Appa when many pairs of hands touched her shoulders and when she politely recoiled, a familiar arm encircled around her back.
"It's nice to see you too." His deep voice perked her ears up, attentively. "Where's Gran-Gran?" He excused themselves from the moderately sized crowd. The frozen girl heard her name passing numerous lips.
"That's Toph Beifong" – "Toph Beifong in our village." – "She must really be blind here." The comment made her set a hard brow, it wasn't malicious, but it was a weakness.
They were guided into a hut, the wind was silenced and warmth finally reached her frostbitten cheeks and nose. Even on rugs, the shoes she wore still muffled her vision like a heavy blindfold.
"Gran-Gran!" Sokka let go of his partner to rush towards his grandmother.
"Sokka, it's so nice to see you. My, you've grown." The old woman's voice was a new one to be stored in the blind-girls memory. That's how she knew everyone, she never forgot a voice. Sokka looked around the small hut of ice and blankets.
"Where's Master Paku?" He inquired.
"Oh, he had to go back to the Northern tribe and take care of a few things. You just missed him by 2 days." Before Sokka could say anything, Gran-gran asked, still in a merry tone. "How's Katara?"
"She's great! You'd be so proud to see her. She's a master, AND is working very closely with Aang." Sokka said in an excited tone, even though the siblings fought, they were still very proud of each other.
"That's my granddaughter." She said with a laugh. There was a pause and Toph stood where ever she was, still and tranquil with a hint of uncertainty.
"Gran-Gran, I'd like you to meet our very close friend- Toph Beifong, the best earth bender of all time." He gestured towards her, still one hand in his grandmothers'. The old woman approached her.
"Ah yes, I've heard so much about you. The fearless girl who can see with her feet." Toph smiled and extended a hand, she could hear the muffled sound of boots on the furs underfoot but couldn't distinguish much else. A rough warm hand closed around her mitten covered one.
"You invented a new form of bending, yes?" Toph was taller than Gran-Gran but not by all that much, she was still behind on a growth spurt.
"Metal bending, was it? Very smart." She clasped another hand over Toph's upper arm. "And very strong too." She turned back to her grandson. "Don't be a smart mouth with this one Sokka or you'll be through the roof." She said with a serious set face. Sokka rubbed the back of his neck and rolled his shoulders in the spotlight.
"Oh believe me Gran-Gran, I know." He nodded.
"It's so nice to finally meet you- uh, Mrs. Sokka's Grandma." She made an unsure laugh.
"AH HA" Gran-Gran chuckled wonderfully and warmly. "Just call me Gran-Gran." She smiled, even though Toph couldn't see it. Even with her red cheeks, the girl looked dangerously pale, almost ill.
"You two must be exhausted. I'll send some food. There are two pelts for each of you and I set out more blankets on the small table over there." She gave the direction really to Sokka but spoke facing Toph.
"Pleasure meeting you." Toph bowed respectively as Gran- Gran let go of her and went back to Sokka. Kissing his cheek and walking back out into the cold.
Unsure how to take off any of the heavy clothing, Toph was completely reliant on Sokka to take care of her. She was just a helpless little blind girl all over again.
They were alone and without the watchful eyes of the village, Sokka took the liberty of undressing her and began helping Toph out of her freezing clothes.
Taking his gloves off first and stuffing them in his pockets, he pulled her hood down ad untied the scar. He unraveled it with care and let the soaked scarf hit the rug. Occasionally his fingers brushed her cheek with undenounced purpose.
"Hands up." He had a smile with a light-hearted laugh.
Toph sniffed and raised her arms up, allowing him to pull the thick long coat over her head. She didn't feel odd about having the young man undress her. Beforehand, she had dressed her in traditional water tribe garb. Some of the clothes actually belonged to Katara: a blue shirt that V necked: pair of sweatpants over tight leggings: and boots he had to make her. He spend months finding just the right materials for the boots to be made, making her try many dozens of different furs on her feet to see what would be comfortable for him. He knew, and she had told him, that she would be blind once-off of Appa. However, he was grateful she took the trip with him.
The whole time Toph was like a compliant doll, probably used to it from the years of pampering from her parents and servants in Ba Sing Se. She raised her arms as needed and lifted a leg to slip the sweatpants off over her boots without a hitch or complaint. Nor was there any attempt by her to do it on her own. Sokka questioned that most of all, but upon getting the baggy pants off he discovered just why she didn't.
He slipped the pants off of her left booted foot and with her right leg only planted on the ground, Toph lost her balance. It startled Sokka as she immediately bent to put her hand on his shoulder for stability. Without her ability to see through earth bending, everything was dark except for herself.
Sokka stood up, untied the string holding each of her mittens on, an original design meant for a child, and pulled them off with care.
"Cold?" His voice was amused but soft, he was leaning forward and into his charge.
"Freezing." Toph didn't sound as nearly amused as him.
Sokka brushed the long ebony hair away from her delicate face and tucked it behind her ears. He wore a half-smile with pride and laid the inside of his hand on her face, cradling her frozen cheek in his palm. His hands were warm and brought the feeling back in the tingling skin.
"Here." He rubbed his thumbs on the apples of her cheeks. Her pale green eyes were distantly lingering on his chest, although out of habit he looked into them.
With his hands on her, she was given an entire image of him, the way he stood close to her, his muscular arms held up gently to hold her face in his big hands.
"Thanks." Toph paused but her tone left more than one word. She saw the way Sika's chin tilted. "Huh." Her laugh was empty. "So this is what being blind feels like." Her indifference sparked concern in her best friends' chest.
"I guess." The back of his hand ran up the hollow of her cheek. "Are you mad about coming? I could take you home tomorrow morning if you want." Toph shook her head.
"No. I want to stay with you. How many times have I made you suffer at the academy, anyway?" Now there was forced humor in her voice, and she licked her chapped bottom lip. "I just hate feeling so- so"
"Hate feeling helpless?" Toph turned her face away, out of Sokka's hold.
"But this time I am, I've been here 10 minutes and am sick of not being able to see a thing. I mean, YOU'RE my feet. It's amazing if I'm not dead by the time we leave." She threw her hands up in a very Toph way and her voice was animated with amusement, not to hurt Sokka, but in her common joking vernacular.
"You're not missing anything and there's nothing to see but snow for miles. And the village? Not much either. And, HEY, you trust me more than that! "He chuckled when Toph stuck the tip of her tongue out at him and smiled, brightening her sullen face.
"It's funny." She raised her hands up, one finding perch on his broad chest, and the other searching for his hand. "I can't see-see you, it's like being completely alone."
"But you're not alone Toph, you're here with me." She could faintly see the sway of his head nodding in assurance.
"Not like that, dunder-head." She moved her head in her way of rolling her eyes. "It's like… look." She slid her fingertips up to his face and covered his eyes with her hands. "See that?"
"No."
"That's what I'm feeling. Like there isn't anything around me, there's only me, until I can feel through someone else." She moved her hand off of his face and was alone again. "Right now. I can't see you. Or feel your heart. Or tell if you're going to step one way or the other."
Sokka still looked into her eyes, now with a better view that her hair was pulled away.
"You can still see me Toph, you just have to use your hands." He put his hand around hers and brought it flat to his chest, just above his heart.
Toph's fingers splayed slightly, feeling the thump of his strong heart. It was silent in the hut for a moment as he looked down at her, and her face was tilted up towards his. The tiny ridge between her eyebrows told him that she had something on her mind.
"What else?" She asked.
Sokka smiled and took her other hand that was now at her side. He placed it to his cheek lightly. Toph could count on one hand the amount of times she purposefully touched Sokka’s face. Mosr of them in chaste kisses they no longer talk about, she felt his cheekbones but never tried to map his features out.
Toph's fingers swept up his temples and down along the bridge of his nose, delicately sweeping over his eyelids, and brows. She could feel his heart beat faster. The tip of her index finger and first knuckle caressed just along his jaw that was even sharper than the last time she thought she mapped it. She reached the dimple in his chin, he was looking down at her, and his lips were just barely parted.
The pads of her fingers brushed his lower lip and a small smile pulled at the corners of her baby doll lips. He didn't know what she was thinking about but had a feeling it was the same thing he was.
The young pair were pulled apart by a voice calling their attention from just outside the hut.
"Sokka, I said are you both hungry?" Sokka looked up, clearing his throat as Toph turned her head away and cast her glassy eyes downwards.
"Yeah, just leave it here. I'll get it. Thanks." He let her hand slip out his and went to the entrance
Part 4

I hope you are enjoying my little... excursion into this ooolddd ship... That I still ship.
Leave a comment with constructive criticism or simply what you think!
1. Toph walks into the woods and heard a voice of a little boy. Perhaps he is around seven years old.
Boy: “Help!”
2. Toph hurries to where the voice was coming from. An armadillo bear is ready to pounce a little boy whose back is pressed against a tree. Toph can’t feel the boy since the boy’s feet are standing over the tree roots and not on the ground.
3. Toph pulls an earthen wall between the armadillo bear and the boy.
4. The armadillo bear steps back, looks at Toph and then retreats silently deep into the woods.
5. Toph to the boy: “Are you okay?”
Boy: “Yes, thank you for saving me.”
6. The boy walks lightly on his toes as if she was floating in front of Toph.
Boy: “How can I repay you?”
Toph: “It’s no big deal really. You should go home. Where are your parents? It’s not safe for a little boy to roam in the woods alone.”
7. The boy smiles.
Boy: “You have a good heart. But I don’t think you were rewarded enough for your good deeds, Toph.”
8. Toph gasps in surprise.
Toph: “You know my name? Have we met somewhere before, kiddo?”
Boy: “Maybe. But I’ve known you since you were just a babe.”
Toph: “Okay. Whoever you are, this joke isn’t funny.”
9. Boy: “It must be sad to always see everything in black and white, Toph.”
Toph: “… .”
Toph: “Not really. Being blind actually has more advantage than actually being able to see. Anyway, it’s nice talking to you. I’m going. You should go home, too, kiddo.”
10. Toph begins to walk away.
Boy: “Would you accept a gift from me? Consider it as payment for saving my life.”
11. Toph: “What kind of gift?”
Boy: “This gift will either make you hate me or thank me. But it’s a gift nonetheless.”
12. Toph feels something soft and cool touches her face. The touch feels nice like a cool breeze in summer. She closes her eyes.
13. When she opens them, the world materializes in front of her with colours —- the blue sky, the green mountains and the white ice caps on top of them, and the rich green hills at the base of them, the dark brown and black barks of trees around her and their leaves of green, yellow and orange; the red, yellow, white and purple flowers among the grasses; the sparkling water of the stream; the golden and silver fishes swimming in it. So many colours. All new to Toph perception.
14. Toph: “I….I CAN SEE!!!”
15. When Toph looks for the little boy, he is nowhere to be found but she can hear his voice. It sounds mystical and fading.
Boy: “The gift will last until the day after tomorrow at sunset. Please treasure all the memories it will bring you.”
16. Toph: “Wait, where are you? What’s your name?”
Boy: Kanto is my name. We will meet again for the last time.”
17. Toph doesn’t hear from him anymore. She starts walking while beholding her surroundings with wonder.
18. Toph starts to feel nervous when she thinks of what would her friends look like when she finally sees them with her eyes. She wonders what would Sokka look like?
….to be continued…(should I continue this?)
This is just a random idea that had been going in my mind lately. What if Toph was given a chance to actually see with her eyes even for just a couple of days? I think seeing what people and the world looks like with colors even for just a short time would be a memory worth treasuring for her, especially actually seeing what the person she loves looks like.
Anyway, I'm not really good at writing (English is not even my first language so please excuse the grammar errors). The reason why it has numbers was because originally, I would like to narrate the story through doodled illustrations or doodled comic pages. But I realized it would be a lot to draw and it will consume too much time (and I got some work to do) so I decided I will just write it down.
Maybe, when I got time I will make few doodles of the scenes (that is if I would still be motivated in the future).
Four years have passed since I’ve heard from sokka or suki. I see katara and aang every once in awhile, since then they have welcomed a son named bumi, after the 2nd greatest earthbender and a daughter named kya. Also I’ve recieved news that firelord zuko had a daughter named honora. I on the other hand have been running my academy and supplying republic city with my finest metal benders. It was a holiday so all my students where absent gone home with their families yet I remained her at the school relaxing in my favorite arena, just thinking about the gang. I could sense someone approaching, it had to be haro since everyone had gone home but him. In he last four years he has made his feelings known, but I have strict rules to abide by here at the academy. Haro came up and plopped of the ground next to me. Nudging him with my shoulder, he Began to laugh. I’ve grown accustomed to his laugh, his heartbeat, and just his presence in general he was my right hand man and I could tell something was up. “What’s the matter ” I asked calmly. He proceeded to unravel what sounded like a scroll from his waist. “That sounds like a piece of paper, but I’m not sure” i chuckled. He muttered under his breath, and chuckled. Reassuring himself he took a deep breath and said ” I received my papers from republic city, to join the police force.” I was in shock, but happy for him that’s why he was here at my school, to train and become an officer. I put on a tough face and laughed ” they better have picked you, you’ve had the greatest master in the world !” He scoffed as he punched my shoulder, “it’s true my young apprentice” I say with a big smile and shrug my shoulders. “I should be thanking you sifu toph, though I’m older than you.” he said standing up. I stood up and stood beside him, “and should be thanking you too, you taught me everyone deserves love.” I placed my hands on faces and traced all the edges. He grabbed my hands and slowly came forward to kiss me. I hesitated, ” I’m no longer a student here sifu, toph, you’re no longer breaking rules.” Smiling I couldn’t help but add, “you sure you’re going to be an excellent officer of the law.” He pulled me into a kiss that was soft and a sweet, and I tried to make up for not doing this the last four years, I could feel a smile form on his lips when he noticed I used earth ending to make myself a little taller. I know I am a tough and rigid person as the earth I bend, but I can be soft and flexible like the sand I bend too. That night I laid in his arms, I felt safe and warm. As he dozed off his voice deep with sleep mumbled ” I love you toph” smiling I snuggled in closer, and whispered the same.

p>For the next few days we spent every waking moment around each other. On the last day I awoke with an empty bed, and my heart dropped. I rolled out of bed and went to the kitchen, to find him singing and cooking. I stood in the doorway trying not to laugh. "Morning toph" he called out to me. I made noise more like an animal to show i was not a morning person. Haro just laughed and served a plate of food to the table. "Come here and eat." He patted the table and I dragged my feet to the table. I wanted this to never end but today was the day he was leaving. I never thought I could enjoy someone's presence as much as I did his, but I didn't want him to know that. I simply smiled and enjoyed his presecene, and the wonderful breakfast. Finally mid way through breakfast he said softly " you should consider moving to republic city." I was conflicted, I wanted to go and be with him but I had a responsibility to the academy and my school. "I can't leave my school, I need to keep supplying republic city with tough earth benders like you." I said trying to sound tough and as adult as possible. He simply nodded and dropped the subject. After a few hours his bags were packed and he was ready to leave. I walked him to the front gate. Saying goodbye was tough, but just like element we bend, we stayed strong. He kissed my cheek and pulled me into one last hug, "see you around sifu toph" as he walked away I yelled out to him "see you in the big city !"
I jogged up to the hut and sensed for aang and katara’s heartbeats but they were nowhere in my reach. My own heart was racing and I was angry with myself for getting caught up with my feelings for sokka. I’m 18, and sokka is 21 about to go off and help aang run republic city. He doesn’t need someone like me by his side he needs someone more feminine who suits his needs and that is not me. I can’t give him everything he needs, and he doesn’t need me. I should be back in the earth kingdom at my academy where I am needed to teach others metal bending. That’s what I will do I will go back to my school. I didn’t think twice about saying goodbye, as I walked away I could sense that sokka was still on the beach. A fear rolled down my cheek as I left sokka behind.
Sokka’s POV: “I love suki, but I think I love toph too. I’ve known suki longer, but been through more with toph and she just means more to me. She’s blind but not dependent on me, she truly doesn’t need me. She stands her own ground and brings us happiness whenever we are all down. Yes suki is a non-bender and a warrior like me, but she’s dedicated to the kyoshi warriors and doesn’t plan on leaving. I need someone who I can be me with, and I think toph’s the girl. ” as soon as he finished that thought sokka dashed to the house. “Toph where are you !” He called out to the empty hut. His face changed from frantically happy to sad when he realized the blind bandit was gone. Sokka sat in the middle of the hut thinking about his decision when katara and aang strolled through the door. Putting a brave face on sokka stood up to greet his sister and brother in law who both had beaming smiles on their faces. Sokka rolled his eyes, ” Aang can your smile get any dorkier ? What’s the good news ? ” raising an eyebrow at them. Katara just smiled ” well I don’t know, but how do you like the name uncle sokka ?” Sokka starred in disbelief he was going to be an uncle. He couldn’t help but lift both aang and katara up in a big hug. “Congrats you two.” Sokka said putting them down. “Now where’s toph so I can tell her the news?” Katara asked. Sokka just looked at the floor & kicked a little dirt. Both aang & katara sighed and understood his sadness. ” oh well I guess I will send a messenger hawk to the academy this week.” Katara sighed, Not wanting to pry into her brothers love life she gave aang a little push towards sokka, with a look of encouragement. Aang understood and walked up to sokka, placing a hand on his shoulder he looked him dead in the eye ” she’s gone, if she’s the one go after her.”
