Just because I feel like it, I want to do a personal shoutout to something that I never thought I’d be interested in.

Shipping. Specifically Rare Pairs.

As I started BNHA, I was content on love pairs simply being Izuku and Ochako, and that was all. (They are still one of my faves, don’t worry!) As time went on, I started coming across fanfics of BNHA, and started to look at them, and I came across one fic that made me do a double take.

Rock n Roll High School by TheJoshuaTree87.

It’s a discontinued fic (hasn’t had any chapters since 2018 as of now) and it had these two as the main romantic pairing.

And at first, I was like…

…what?….

How would this possibly work?

The two of them are just so…opposite!

But I decided to read it anyway, out of mere curiosity.

Two things happened.

I enjoyed EVERY chapter.

And I ended up looking forward to seeing these two as a couple!

Again, this hasn’t been picked back up in ages, so I’m not holding my breath. But I actually enjoyed it!

After that, it got me into digging around, and I started looking up more about shipping and eventually the term rare pair (which this pair very much is).

And the more I understood it, the more I ended up enjoying it.

Because I see shipping as something just to let the mind explore and have fun! That’s what is important at the end of the day after all, isn’t it? As a little thing to distract you from the main storyline if you wish.

And over time, I’ve had a number of rare pairs that I particularly love. IzuMomo, IzuTooru, Kirichako, Iida and Aoyama, Shouji and Ibara, Momo and Satou, Jirou and Koda, to name a few. As for MinaToko, I still like it and it’ll have a special place in my heart, but there’s another ship involving Tokoyami and a pink-themed girl that lives rent free in my head.

IDK if you're into Tokoyami X Uraraka, but imagine her (or anyone else he's dating) stealing his robes/hoodies

I absolutely love this idea, and I think the thievery would go either way. Seeing as Tokoyami is the shortest boy next to Mineta, and is only taller than 3 girls he’s also the ultimate hoodie thief.

Uraraka and Tokoyami can totally fit each other’s hoodies and occasionally just trade, but mostly just steal. It’s so funny bc Uraraka will be in the common room wearing a black hoodie with demons and bloody font on it, and Tokoyami will be wearing a pink hoodie with a kitten and sparkles on it.
