2052 Robinwood Avenue, also known as the "Rock Castle", was built in 1894 by stone mason, Michael Henahan, as his personal residence. It was later purchased by John Breymann, of G. H. Breymann & Brothers. This large turreted abode at 2233 Robinwood was built in 1892 for Frederick O. Paddock, a grain dealer. An excellent (and unusual) example of shingle style architecture, the Paddock home features ornate sandstone and brick in addition to traditional shingle. And take a look at that veranda! But what caught my attention about this home, besides its obvious beauty, are the solemn reminders of the real cost of a war that has been raging on for the better part of 2 decades.
