Summary:
Aziraphale and Crowley meet while waiting in line for tickets to the Fellowship of the Ring, in 2001. Things develop from there.
Excerpt:
(from chap 1)
"I'd join you in getting soaked," says the angel, "but I've been feeling rather revolutionary lately. Down with cultural pressure and conformity and all that."
"You?" Crowley gives him an exaggerated once-over. "You look like a company man to me."
The angel casts his eyes heavenward. "Oh, dear. What does that even mean?"
"C'mon. Dressed like you're waiting for the return of Queen Vicky."
The man's shoulders straighten and his mouth thins. He gives Crowley an answering once-over, and Crowley's jolted with a flash of serious liquid heat that shoves right past warm, fond glowiness and into hello, there interest. Hmm. This guy could take him apart, couldn't he? Crowley would like that, probably a bit too much.
"…and we can't all dress like aging rock stars, can we?" the angel's saying. "Some of us have standards."
"I've got standards," Crowley mutters, but it's hard to justify when he's getting soggier by the second. The man sighs, and steps into his space, lifting the umbrella high overhead, and just like that, Crowley's out of the rain.
