"I'm seeing someone." "You mean like a therapist?"
—The Love Hypothesis (2026) trailer
"It felt like such a small thing. Claire [Scanlon], our director, when she called up to offer it, she said, "Just so you know there's like a little connection here." And I mentioned it to Dais that evening — she was away filming — so I said, "You know there's this thing..." And she just said, "Oh yeah, I heard about that," but we didn't think it was a big thing until we were in Montreal shooting and I was made aware that it's a bigger deal than I thought it was. But she thought it was great. She basically said, "Anything that gets people reading." And also those characters are so beautiful in Star Wars, of course they're going to inspire other people to write things around those sorts of characters. And it's why I was was drawn to playing the role. Obviously it's based on such a brilliant character that's so loved. To play a sort of shade of that, of course I was attracted to it as an actor." "It's nice to have Daisy's stamp of approval. Like, the one person whose stamp of approval we needed."
—Tom and Lili about The Love Hypothesis x Reylo connection
"I feel like my love of characters comes from reading. I was always a bookworm and my film knowledge is a lot more extensive now, but as a child and then a teenager and still now— I am so wrapped up in reading and so focused. It's really my biggest love in a sort of creative sense, I think. And so much of that is picturing it as I'm reading. I think a lot of my love of acting comes from reading and the sort of visual understanding of what's going on, or the visual interpretation I have of what I'm reading... Particularly over the last few years, in the acting way, I feel like the calmer I feel in my personal life I enjoy acting even more than I did. And I've always loved it. I feel so sort of grounded in my life that going to work is so joyful to me... I just love being at work. I just love acting. I love being around films. So it's been something that continues to grow. And now, I think I'm shooting in a few months. I cannot wait to get back on set. I'm really happy that I still feel so much love for it... [My love of acting] is something that has sort of changed over time and so much of that I do think was reading." —for Life in Film Podcast, about breaking into acting
