Zeit, auch den zweiten hochklassigen Song der Supershy Double A-Side Happy Music/Something on my mind als Tagestipp zu präsentieren. Während ich es bisher eher mit dem A2 Song Something on my mind gehalten habe, ist mir der A1 Song Happy Music allein wegen des nach 18 Sekunden einsetzenden Kick-Basses eine Tagesnominierung wert.

Wenn Sie mal wieder nichts zu tun haben, zählen Sie doch einfach mal, wie oft der Songtitel Something on my mind auf ca. fünf Minuten Lauflänge von Supershy auf der Debüt-Double A/Side Happy Music / Something on my mind zitiert wird. Ich habe allein in der ersten Minute 27 mal gezählt. Davon abgesehen hat Something on my mind diesen knochentrockenen Drumbeat, der mich einfach willenlos mitzucken läßt.

TOM MISH FEAT. JORDAN RAKEI - WAKE UP THIS DAY

South East London based artist Tom Mish represents one of the most interesting emerging producer that U.K has to offer.

The brilliant multi-instrumentalist,songwriter,producer as well as vocalist blew our mind showing a superlative talent as producer  and singer working with singer/songwriter Carmody to record the EP Out To See .

Great fan of hip-hop artists such as A Tribe Called Quest and J.Dilla,the young dude combines elements of hip-hop golden era (soulful boombap rhythm) with modern sonorities (earning the respect of Soulection label founder Joe Kay and dropping an instrumental for the White Label series ) creating a distinctive sound .

Last year Mr. Mish released Beat Tape 1 a collection of instrumental hip-hop beats and at the end of this month he will release the second volume.

Beat Tape 2 is an interesting concept work focused on his production style being fused with the vocal features.

In the meantime make sure you to press play and enjoy the sound of the leak titled Wake Up This Day.

It’s an impressive collaboration alongside a gifted artist from Brisbane, Jordan Rakei (check out his debut work Franklin’s Room and the sophomore project Groove Curse or taste some brilliant joints included on some selections: All Burgundy , Stay Mellow Vol.10 and Groove Easy )

BEKKE - RELAX YOUR MIND (PRODUCED BY TOM MISH)

Today we introduce to all scratchtheblock.com audiences the sultry voice of U.K songwriter/songstress Bekke.

We mentioned her in occasion of the review of the song Malcom In The Middle by Abe. Last year in September Abe released his interesting EP See counting on the collabo of the talented songstress.

Now we decided to spotlight Bekke’s vocal prowess taking advantage of her release titled Relax Your Mind.

The joint is a buttery, groovy and soulful joint produced by one of the most gifted producer of the U.K’ music scene (and not only!), Tom Mish who appeared on two jazz selections Jazz On Da Block and So What
