Tomas Goodfellow [he/him] has joined the masquerade
TW: Transphobia mentioned
The common folk tell a tale of a remote village once known for its apothecary. The man was a widower and lived alone with his only child who was known to be boyish and free-willed. The child was sixteen summers of age, and was studying to take over once the apothecary passed on.
The local Baron fell ill and requested the services of the apothecary. He recovered swiftly and paid a personal visit to the village to reward the man. It was then that he caught sight of the child and demanded them be handed over to be married. The Baron promised to "fix" what the apothecary had allowed and make a proper lady out of them.
The man refused, not wanting to force his child to live a life not true to who they were nor cause the village to lose a valuable service. Enraged, the Baron had the apothecary arrested and held until the child agreed to be wed.
Days before the wedding was to take place, the child entreated with dark forces for the power to free their father and exact revenge on the Baron. Their desires were granted - the Baron was soon found drained of blood as were the men guarding the apothecary's cell. The man was returned home.
The villagers, fearing the Count's punishment, stormed the apothecary's home and hung him.
By the time the sun rose over the village, every building was smoldering and few were left alive. Those who were, spoke of a boyish young figure with red eyes who looked and moved like the burning smoke.
The child left the world of the living behind and became Tomas. His actions attracted the attention of The Order of the Hidden Eye
Like his father, he is a master apothecary and prefers poison for method of assassination, but isn't afraid to use his vampiric powers if need be.
