TGIF Simple Summer Appetizer - Bruschetta
Thank God it’s Friday again! Sweet Soirées new TGIF post for this weekend is our recipe for Bruschetta - an easy appetizer that is perfect for summer parties.
While many recipes vary, the ladies of Sweet Soirées love this quick and simple version.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Tomatoes
Red Onion
Basil
French Bread
Olive Oil
Balsamic Vinegar
Salt
Pepper
First we washed and finely chopped our tomatoes, red onion and basil. We prefer to skip the tomato seeds in order to keep the bruschetta mixture from becoming too watery. We then put all our chopped ingredients into a bowl.
Next step is to add a couple splashes of olive oil and balsamic vinegar as well as a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. We then thoroughly stirred the ingredients together to make sure all the flavours were well mixed.
Next we sliced our French bread into fairly thick slices to make sure it could hold plenty of the good stuff!
For the last step we spooned the bruschetta mix onto each slice of bread. As much as we love a jam packed snack we are aware that when serving bruschetta its best not to pile the mixture too high in order to avoid any messy catastrophes for your guests (and your home!).
Voila! A healthy and tasty summer snack for your next party.
You can serve Bruschetta at all sorts of parties such as Italian themed dinner parties, BBQ’s and cocktail parties.
We are looking forward to pairing our Bruschetta with a chilled glass of Pinot Grigio to celebrate the end of this week!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Sweet Soirées xx
