Bert playing on his tower
My favorite thing to do when someone names their NPCs is when the this thing happens:
"Hi, my name's Dusty."
"Oh cool is that short for Dustin?"
"No, it's short for Dustard."
And also when the this thing happens:
"Hello, my name be Yam"
"Yam like the tuber?"
"No it's short for Yamuel."
okay that's it. look at my cat
I don’t even know how to explain the Tombert joke anymore.
It’s Tombert- the Ultimate Town of Salem Strategy/Fuckery
The original user of this tactic was probably just fucking around, but I have personally developed it into a strategy I commonly use. Like the asshole I am.
1: choose a name that you will always use while using this tactic. Do not use “Tombert,” as that is my own name and will make it too obvious what you’re doing if this gains popularity.
2: In the name selection page, before you get your roles, find a random other name in the chat, preferably a simple one with one or two syllables, for comedic effect. As an example, we’ll insert “Tombert” whenever we need to reference this name. While in the name selection chat, say one sentence: “It’s Tombert].”
3: Ignore your role, it is irrelevant to the tactic. Do whatever you want, but do not kill the Tombert if you have a killing role. No matter what, there are only two phrases you can say for the entire game. “It’s Tombert” is the most common one you’ll use. You may give no explanation, and you cannot change who your target is under any circumstances, even if you know for certain that they are on the same team as you.
4: Either on day 2 or day 3, the first thing you say is “It’s Tombert, I attacked him and he didn’t die.” It does not matter if you have a killing role or not. This is the only time you can say this, and you must say it. Afterwards, all you can say is “It’s Tombert.”
5: You are not allowed to vote anyone on the stand, you may not click the vote button. Every time anyone is voted onto the stand, you must vote innocent, regardless of your role and knowledge of the situation.
6: If for any reason your target dies, you may choose a new target, which we will call Tombert2. Continue acting as normal, but the only thing you may say is “It’s Tombert2.” You may not choose a new target unless the original is dead. If the original is resurrected, you must immediately return to them.
An example is provided below of my own.
