Check out my boy Mike #Repost @sofsurvivor ・・・ People ask me how you learn discipline and warrior mindset to be prepared for Special Forces. I had the unique privilege of learning it 21 steps at a time as a guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers in Arlington National Cemetery. Before the war, when I joined the Army at 17 I sought every challenge and the motto "be all that you can be" resonated as I went from goal to goal, school to school. The hardest-most sustained level of difficult earned reward was the humble reverence I earned guarding the Tomb, as one of only 470 since 1948 at the time, it took me almost 9 months to earn the Tombguard badge and the honor to guard those who sacrificed it all. I sat in silence night and day, in every uncomfortable weather condition, rain, snow, and sleet-in stark contrast it was slight discomfort knowing the men and women I was guarding not only gave their lives for this country but also their known identity-that's selfless and that's where I learned about what sacrifice, what discipline and what ethic was. My mom built for me the foundation, and the Tomb built the granite bricks that would make my mind stronger than any physical pain and discomfort-21 steps at a time. @grunt1bcomics #tombguard #tus #tomboftheunknowns #3rdinf #tog #specialforces #ranger #freedom #sacrafice #neverforget @igrecon @ronintactics #FieldCraftLLC #humblebeginnings #usarmy @usarmy @_the_us_army_ @chaseneely #GlobalRecon #GlobalReconPodcast
