I got up in the middle of the night to pee. That was the inspiration behind this gorgeous photo. 😅 It was 3am and I snuck outside of our tent quietly, being mindful trying not to move the aerobed too much. I didn’t want to wake up Devin. When I got outside it was pitch black because it was that time in the night when the moon has set and the sun hasn’t come up yet. I needed a moment for my night vision to kick in. I needed to make sure I wasn’t gonna squat on a cactus. I looked up into the sky and there it was, the milky way and a blanket of stars. It was magic. Floating softly overhead. Not in your face, not too proud, just there hanging out in the sky. I was in awe! Minutes later I walked back into our tent and demanded that Devin wake up to see it. This wasn't our first time seeing the milky way but it was our first time seeing it in Joshua Tree. I told him we had to take a photograph and declared that I would be the one nestled under the covers with the flash light creating the tent glow while he would be outside in the cold with the camera and tripod. ;-) . I have this thing for constellations, I’ve had it for a long time. It wasn’t until recently that I heard a talk by Tom Chi, lead developer of Google glass. He spoke about “light spots” and talked about how with each success or failure in life we should choose to see the light spot in it. We can find the brightest light in every achievement, challenge or set back. Tom says we should carry these forward with us and over time the light spots that are really bright (our biggest lessons, our most significant accomplishment, our true north) will become our stars. And after a long time of accumulating bright stars, we’ll have a constellation. . I hope this inspires you to get outside. Plan a trip, explore, take out your tripod, slow your roll, and find your bright spots! May you find you’re surrounded by so many bright spots and you have the capability to find more. #shinebright #tomchi #purasoulphoto #purasoultravel #havelovewilltravel (at Joshua Tree, California)

The Reality of Connection.
This video is thought provoking for hundreds of reasons but each defined by the magnificent Tom Chi. Science proves the connectedness of everything from the basics in biology to the vibrational frequency of the galaxies being at the core of our very being. If you have ever wondered then this is worth a watch.
