Greg grows a lot between the weekend the Roys spent at the Pierces' estate and another weekend, many months later, at the Argestes conference. Tom blooms in tandem, just before a scandal arrives to cut them short.
"See! I knew it had to be you. I was thinking to myself, you know, at lunch—no, that would be an impossible coincidence, it must just be the jacket... But nah, I knew I'd recognize that hopeless little gaze anywhere, hah... Looks like fate has led us together."
some 70s au tom and greg from my fic This Picture of You
Thinking about how when Greg asks Tom if he’s trying to seduce him, Tom says; “Yes I am,” jokingly at first, then he looks into Greg’s eyes and states: “Yes I am, Greg.”

I've had an intense case of writer's block for the past few years. Now I might be feeling up to it again, so I looked through my Google Docs to figure out where to start. And I found this snippet, which doesn't fit the style of my WIP, but I love it and it must be allowed out of the enclosure.
From the TomGreg/Three Kingdoms fic:
Not until the incident with the Imperial Hereditary Seal did Tom realize how fucked he was.
Greg had pressed the priceless little cube into his hand and whispered, “Don’t freak out,” while standing in front of their lord in his throne room. Only Tom’s years of experience in subterfuge kept him from flinging the object across the room like some kind of flesh-eating hot coal. Because again, Greg had just casually handed him the most politically charged object in the entire known world.
Years ago, this little jade seal was used by the Emperor to approve an increase in rations for a starving region, to sign a peace treaty – this very seal had probably granted Tom’s current lord his independence. It had been passed down to each new Emperor of the Han.
Then, of course, the rebels burned down the capital, the Emperor was kidnapped, and everything went to dogshit. The last person to claim ownership of the seal before their lord was Sun Jian, and they all knew how that had ended: wife kidnapped, troops ambushed, and shot to death with arrows.
Logan narrowed his eyes in their direction, and Tom straightened. And tried to keep his feelings off his face.
Yes, Tom had said they should get rid of it last night, but he had drunk a reflecting pool’s worth of wine. He had also said they should run away and raise horses in Anding together. But that’s the kind of hyperbole one spews after learning that a force of 50,000 is on its way to raze your commandery and slaughter everyone inside.
“REPORT,” hollered a messenger, tripping over his own feet in his haste to kneel before Logan.
Tom took the chance to hiss in Greg’s ear, “The fuck?”
“I panicked, man. I don’t want to die as Minister of the Stables, you know? Maybe we can hand it over to the other side for some leniency?”
“TOM,” Logan barked, “Is there something more pressing than this news you’d like to share?”

Two things:
1. This WIP gnaws at me to finish it, always. And, 2. I stopped writing it because I just wasn't happy with anything I wrote.
And now I realize those two things have nothing to do with each other.
In the interest of actually meeting said goal, I will be posting much, much, much shorter chapters (so the chapter count will jump). This will force me to continue to post stuff and move on instead of rewriting the beginning of a chapter thirty-seven times and never getting to the end of it. Is that an exaggeration? I literally don’t know.
Anyway, it’s meant the world to have a warm welcome back. ☺️ Thank you, kind people! My health is doing pretty good (knock on wood) for the time being, so I want to use this time as best I can while, for once, trying to maintain a balance in my life.
I’ve added some new tags to the end of the list, so please check them before diving in. Feel free to lob me any questions if you’d like to know more about how they’ll factor into the story. Just message me here or send me an ask.
With a new season airing I figured I would do a lil post of tomgreg fics I’ve written that I’m kind of proud of, just for funsies 🙈 I've loved being part of this fandom, and I'm hoping to contribute even more as the final season plays out :) I have two things half finished right now, so I guess we'll see.
I love to make friends (I know I'm so laaame shut upppp) and talk about succession so if you see this feel free to reach out here or on Twitter :) 💜
Hope you enjoy! Let me know if you did ahhh...

Truth or Dare
Rating: E
Probably my magnum opus lol. Tom & Greg play an insane game of truth or dare that drastically alters their relationship and throws everything they know into question. I love when Tom’s a little insane, and he is definitely insane in this (in a hopefully canon-typical way at least?!).
Landslide

A bit of a character study on Tom and his complex and layered emotions. He goes on a bit of a journey in this fic, trying to figure out how to be the most authentic version of himself after repressing it for so long (with Greg being enduringly patient).

The blossoming of Tom & Greg’s relationship through the eyes of Shiv. I loved writing this so much that I made it into a mini series.
For what it’s worth

Tom propositions Greg over dinner and it goes better than he expects. The dialogue is some of the best I’ve written, I think, which isn't bad considering I'd watched like 5 episodes of Succession when I wrote it (plus about a million tomgreg fancams :'))
Pictures of the past

Wrote this for my iconic pal @chasingbodies birthday, who actually came up w the idea in the first place. Tom’s friend from college unearths pics of him from his youth and Greg kind of becomes obsessed with seeing them. Such a fun concept, Ana has the best prompts.

Throwing this in here because it’s just silly and cute. When I’m sad I write the softest nonsense and I was so sad when I wrote this 🫣 the plot is essentially ‘Greg can’t stop adopting dogs, and Tom let’s it happen bc he’s in love with Greg’
Surreal, but nice

Notting Hill AU. Ewan gives Greg his aging bookstore as an early inheritance, and in attempting to run it he meets mega famous actor Tom Wambsgans, who develops an interest in him 🤭 it’s literally a reimagining of the movie Notting Hill, which I highly recommend if you haven’t seen it. (Though I don't think you need to have seen it to enjoy this, it's just like if tomgreg were a romcom)

An ongoing project that I have neglected of late, but just a home for drabbles that I’ve written to submitted prompts! You can see a chapter-by-chapter list of prompts here.

I’ve written quite a few tomgreg fics since I started posting 12 months ago, and you can find them here if you like! I always welcome prompts, though there’s no guarantee I’ll fill them. I have a bit of a list I’m working through though so… you never know :)
