...been really under the weather lately but continuing to sketchbook (on paper that is far too thin for this) with ideas for a Dr. Octagon character - basing his design this time on a mixture of some Alex Horley / Simon Bisley / Tomm Coker while trying to get him in the same world as the Gorillaz stuff I been doing - included Jamie's Frankenstein Girl as nurse & a prototype Boogieman Baby Briefcase from the lab - could that be a cloned Murdoc in there?! Cheers and jeers. Remember that section of TV Guid? Well here's my cheers and jeers for this month. Cheers: Black Monday Murders #1, written by Jonathan Hickman and artist Tomm Coker and so far this is in the running for best books this year. It uses (the movie) Seven aesthetic and propaganda right out of the Illuminati Trilogy. Except it's too smart, too grandiose and too sophisticated of a read to really think you're reading another Illuminati conspiracy. It's bigger than that and better, the word Illuminati or any word like it doesn't appear once, but you feel the presence. But the detective, his story is so fantastic that when you combine every element in the book you have a tragic figure that is bad ass! JEERS: Led Zepplin In Through the Out Door and I've never read a single review of this album but I bet it won't be hard to find a negative one. This album was so bad it became distracting while I was trying to read Black Monday Murders. I couldn't finish the book while listening to this dying mess. The only redeeming song is All of my Love. I've heard Fool in the Rain ( think that's the title) but never knew it was a Led Zepplin song and rarely blasted it, sober, if I've heard it on the radio. If I went to Wikipedia and looked up this album it would most likely be a contact filler. There is almost no sincerity in this album. It's so unredeemable even All of My Love doesn't save it, but there is a bonus for me! I have such an amazing record collection, way better than my comic collection, that if Led Zepplin's last album is the worst one that says it all.
