greetings readers !! i had a cold and laryngitis when I started writing this a few weeks ago and who doesn't love a self indulgent sick fic. tagging @theold-ultraviolence because she gave me an excuse to write this when i mentioned it in the tags a few weeks ago 💓. warning for mention of smut (with jack, who else) but tbh you're ill, no real sexy times are happening i'm sorry.
charles lee ray
pretends not to care but he does really
when he's ill he's out for the count and will hole up in bed until he's better but with you he insists you don't mope about
still lets you relax though
sick days are spent in front of the tv with soup and old schlocky horror movies
laughs his ass off if you're voice gets hoarse or you lose it altogether
but will sit for hours trying to decipher your hand gestures to be able to get you what you need or just for entertainment
might put off some business he has to do if you're feeling particularly rough, but don't expect his life to be totally on hold

he is literally the last person you'd want taking care of you
passes you cough syrup like it's whiskey around a campfire
will not stop drinking it even when you tell him off
honestly its not the worst drug he does so you just let it go and hope it doesn't become an issue that you have to deal with later on
if you throw up he is out
you're on your own
he does not do vomit
this shameless, horny bastard is willing to get sick in an effort to still fuck you
you politely turn him down despite his reassurances

he's almost as good as doc
brings you soup and medicine and tea and anything else you might need
doesn't complain when you want to cuddle
even though your nose is running and you're gonna get him sick too
if he has to go to work he makes sure you're all set for the day and you will be a comfortable as possible until he gets home
you get better in like three days because the sheriff takes such good care of you
billy bibbit
a natural at looking after you
almost as good as the Sheriff
is willing to get sick with you if that's what it takes to be there for you
which is touching but you have to remind him that if he gets sick too, who is going to look after the both of you?
doesn't stop him from cuddling with you in bed anyway
he worries that maybe you'll get really sick so please reassure him that you just have a cold and it's nothing serious
if you get all feverish he just hold you tighter and strokes your hair to try and settle you
(and of course it does because billy's arms are the safest place™)
doc cochran
takes care of you like it's his job
because it literally is his job, he's the only doctor in town
(but also because he really, really loves you)
this man has not eaten a regular meal in his life but if your sick he will make sure you get three meals a day
you're surrounded by medicine so there is bound to be something he can fix you which will help your sinuses/headache/runny nose
has unending patience if you lose your voice and have to write things down for him
you know you should stay away from him so you offer to sleep on the cot in the surgery rather than in bed with him but he just gives you a look that says 'please stop being so silly'
doesn't like leaving you on your own so gets snippy when he's out on house calls
everyone in town knows when your sick because the doc tries to do everything as quickly as possible (while still doing a competent job) so he can get home to you
grima wormtongue
also not the best at looking after you but he's got the spirit
mostly tells you to rest and will have things brought to you by the house staff
no surprises here but he was pretty sickly as a child and as much as he wants to look after you, he tends to avoid illness like the plague (literally) these days
so although he will drop by to see you throughout the day, he is an and out as quickly as possible
he might stay if you sweet talk him
he's just about to leave again when you say "but my love, I miss you so when you leave"
you can see the conflict in his face as he stands at the door and deliberated if you're worth getting sick for

tommy ludlow
tommy is an excellent nursemaid
never gets tired of looking after you
(no matter how many times he has to help you get undressed and redressed because your fever is playing havoc with your temperature)
when he was a kid his mom made the best chicken soup in nyc and he knows the recipe off by heart so will make a gallon of it to last the week
he's practically begging miss mars to give him time off work to take care of you
(which she allows)
plays music very quietly to help you sleep
leo nova
leo has a terrible bedside manner
expects you to get better spontaneously when he tells you to
he isn't a total meanie though and will bring home soup and pain killers and a cheesy VHS box set for you to watch
don't mention it to him or he'll never be nice again though
honestly he's bad at taking care of you just because he never gets sick
like ever
so he just doesn't really get what you're going through
tucker cleveland
tucker isn't the most openly sympathetic guy around
but he'll make sure you're okay and comfortable before he goes off to work for the day
and will sit with you when he gets home until you fall asleep
use him as a heater because he is very very warm
he' used to just soldiering on when he's sick and its been a long time since he's had to take care of anyone else so he has to get used to it
