a study of resonance has me in a death grip
some doodles inspired by the fabulous work(s) of @mymovingfingerwrites and @enokito :)
a study of resonance is such a niche beautiful fic and Im so stuck bc NOBDOY KNOWS IT but it's also one of the most gorgeous, complicated, sweet, tragic, toxic fics I've ever read in my entire life.
He is the tyrant king’s prized scribe. The king rules the land with an iron fist, oppressing the peasantry and waging war on neighboring kingdoms to expand his empire, sparing no thought for the lives of his soldiers. The king’s hands are bloody, and his mouth is cruel. All the empire’s people work for the king, but to be specially employed by him, to work in the castle, to be in a position of favor, is to put one’s life at risk. Is to walk on ice that thins, day by day, with little means to prepare oneself for the plunge.
“My lord,” he says, and the king with his bloody hands and cruel mouth grins at him, crooked and boyish.
“My love,” says the king. And he says, “how you tempt me, darling.”
New AU
(but I still won't write a fic based on it, tehe)
GENERAL CONTENT:
Mute!Percy joins a long and no destination travel after the war.
The Order and their alliance lost. Except for some people who deserved (all from old families, like Shacklebolt), all of them were executed. Percy's whole family also died.
Although Voldemort likes Percy – he could use non-verbal magic soon because of his disability, even created a lot of new spells for people like him – and promised he would give the young man a wealthiest and happiest life, Percy still wanted to go.
Knowing that Percy wouldn't harm his reign, Voldemort let him go.
OTHER INFO:
I watched Frienre so this AU was born.
It's a VolPercy AU, but the ship is just a side element.
Maybe after Percy found the most marvelous magic, which can resurrect dead people/fix the past, the dark reign collapse.
Therefore Dynasty (MIIA) is the theme song of this AU.
But I can't imagine new magic and spells, also know nothing about Latin and witchcraft *sigh*
Percy wasn't born with mute.
He was normal until magic exploded and harmed his vocal cords; or like I always impressed how the twins (Fred) gave Ron an eternal fear, I will let them do something to their brother's voice (maybe it's George this time). Percy then can't talk anymore and the twins have to take responsible for this problem rest of their life. Until death.
The twins couldn't pass away peacefully, because they knew that their poor brother would be left alone in this cruel world.
Because Percy can't talk, even can't make a sound, he wouldn't go to Hogwarts.
He was educated at home, by some tutors (from the Ministry) and healers (mostly they were here to study about his case). Percy was still very intelligent so he studied quickly, quicker than anyone had done, disability or not.
His parents thought Percy wasn't strong enough for the war, they sent him to his cousins (Ignatius & Lucretia) in Ireland, though he was doing well in the National Magic Library of British – a place I made up, ofc.
The next year, he was kidnapped by Voldemort himself and became his favourite pet.
Sometimes all you need to become utterly obsessed with a ship you'd never even thought of before is a single fanfiction...
I have a question, what exactly is A study of resonance? Like, I have seen a lot stuff around that but idk what it is?
I searched it on Google and is a fic on ao3, looks really good but haven't finished it yet (I'm in chapter 3 I normally just read fluff and it's kind of hitting too hard and serious for my liking) but it's also a separate tag from Harry Potter?
And it also involve a lot of Tompercy?
I read a lot of great stuff about the fic but what is up with the other tags? Like, fanficon a fanfic? But then a lot of the fics in the tag it just pieces of tompercy fanfiction and most of which is from one author ??
Idk it seems as a great fic but I'm confused too? maybe because I haven't completely read it. But idk
Do they have a lot of chemistry or something? A lot of stuff involve tompercy when talking about that fic
Edited: Also forgot to mention, why do people tag ASOR when the fic doesn’t even happen in the same universe? It would be like a whole different AU and still tag it. Do people who ship tompercy just claimed the fic as their symbol for tompercy? It’s almost every time you see it is there.
guys wouldn’t it be hilarious if Tom traveled back in time to stop Percy from *gunshot*
