Currently I am travelling around Thailand, enjoying some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen and feeling really lucky to be doing so. Today I was reminded that a very talent friend of many -Tom, passed away 6 months ago today. I drew this collage of Tom the week I found out. It is by no means a good enough representation of what Tom deserves but it was something that I was compelled to do, it helped the news sink in for me. Life is so short and precious, most of us take it for granted - I do for sure. It's times like today tho when you have to take 5 and reflect on what you have and how lucky many of us are. Today marks the 4 year anniversary of Tom's passing but through his music he lives on. @architects wouldn't be where they are now if it wasn't for him. He was truly an inspiration to many and is sorely missed. Even though he is gone I still hear his influence in everything Architects have done since his passing. I miss seeing his goofy ass on YouTube during interviews with the band but those videos will forever live on to remind us of what a kind soul he was. I never saw a video or picture of Tom where he wasn't happy and smiling, even till the end he kept that happy go lucky wit of his and kept on living life to the fullest. R. I. Still reeling from last night if I’m honest. I’ve not been into Architects all that long, but man, are they good. Really, really good. I’ve been particularly affected by the story of Tom Searle, as I’m sure have many others, and the events of the past six or so months made it all the more poignant. Sam Carter’s speech towards the end of the show gave us all feels, I think, and the whole experience was equal parts heartbreaking, comforting and inspiring. Tom, you are so loved, and missed, and certainly not forgotten. We missed the first support but did get to see Beartooth who I love and who had important messages of their own delivered artfully and honestly by Caleb Shomo.
