It’s Sunday Morning So How About Some Reina Del Cid?

 "Who Put the Bomp (in the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp)" written by Barry Mann and Gerry Goffin.  Mann released his version of the song in 1961.  Song references in the lyrics include:

 The Marcels’ version of “Blue Moon”

The Edsels’ “Rama-Lama-Ding-Dong”

The Diamonds “Little Darlin”

Cubby Checker’s “Pony Time”

 In a sense, it’s kind of an “inside joke” about songwriters by songwriters; very clever.  Reina Del Cid and Toni Lindgren do a great job on it.

When Minneapolis-based guitarist Toni Lindgren was a young girl of about five or six, her uncle would strum Bob Dylan and John Prine on his guitar strings, inspiring a love for the instrument early on in her life. “That was my introduction,” Lindgren said, “and then from there I just took it and ran.”
