Maybe some fluff between Alue'k and Mama bear Neytiri ? (Like a clingy Alue'k wanting her Mama for a day, refusing Jake and siblings etc ?)

So let’s get one thing straight, Alue’k loves her mama. She enjoys just silently siting in her company or being around her in general. When Alue’k was little (Well littler) she would seek out her mama so she could cuddle and sit in her lap as Neytiri comfortingly scratched at her scalp or braided her hair. Neytiri is always in wonder of Alue’ks connection with the fauna and flora of Pandora listing carefully as her daughter regales her with stories of her adventures with Tonôwa. Neytiri is also acutely aware that Alue’k is the child that is most likely to send her to an early grave. She just so dam clumsy. The word clumsy translates to pìsaw in Na’vi, Neytiri sometimes uses pìsawite as a nickname for one of her most accedent prone children. It’s all in good fun and she means no harm by it, Neytiri often uses it in an affectionate manner to help calm her daughter down if she upset because it never fails to make Alue’k laugh.

When Alue’k was little (1-5) she was very sickly so Jake and Neytiri would sit with her so they could comfort her. However sometimes their chiefly duties would require them to leave their daughter in the care of Mo’at.

This gave Neytiri the worst case of separation anxiety she’s probably ever had. She trusts her mother, she did truly however she just fears being away from her baby for longer than five minutes. This meant that baby Alue’k was a constant companion of Neytiris while she completed her chief tasks either always wrapped in her arms or sitting snuggly in a baby carrier attached to Neytiri.

As Alue’k became older she started to want to explore and play with her brothers and sister so while Neytiri swore the very idea was making her breath catch in her throat she trusted her daughter and her skills of self preservation (😬bad idea).

Alue’k fell from a rather tall branch in new home tree. She had tripped while playing a game with her sibling and down she went. No major injuries, a fractured collar bone some scraped and bruises - Jake and Neytiri almost died from a heart attack.

That injury was the very first semi-serious one Alue’k hade ever gotten. (we all know it won’t be her last) Alue’ks shoulder was rubbed with soothing cream and then bandaged so it could heal. It took a lot of convincing after that for Alue’k to be allowed out of sight from a parent or trusted adult. Alue’k loves spending time with her parents however some times it can be a little … suffocating? However little Alue’k was completely different, she would have days where all she wanted was to be in her mamas arms as Neytiri gentily rocked her back and forth, lulling her to sleep with soft sweet words. She would refuse to play with her siblings and cry when her father would take her out of her mothers arms. This lead to Neytiri hissing at him and snatching her baby back from his arms.   Sad Jake🥺 Alue’k was known in the village for being her parents shadow, always trailing after them or holding their hand as they walked around new home tree. Alue’k would often bring pretty flowers to her Mama and ask to have them braided in her hair, she would then ask Neytiri to do the same to her own so they could match.

Alue’k had a choice to make, a rather difficult one at that. 

She could tell her brothers what happened, it would save her from any punishment … however it would probably cause issues with her family and the Metkayina people which Alue’k really wanted to avoid. 

The girls face pulled into a small grimace as she realised that option two was probably the best for everyone (apart from her).

Neteyam - Alue’k, what happened?

A small sigh escaped her as she fiddled with her thumb, scratching at the side of her nail. Her hand rose as her fingers entangled themselves into her hair, she pulled at her scalp as she twisted them in her curls.

Alue’k - I … I went …

Alue’ks words where left unspoken as the young girl hastily flung her head to the side managing just in time for the contents of her lungs to miss her and Neteyam and instead pooling on the sandy floor. The familiar felling of salty water escaping from her lungs made Alueks toes curl and a twisty feeling appear in her stomach just like the first time it had happened, only hours ago … but this time something was different. 

Water was coming up, a lot of it in fact. It burned Alue’ks throat as she continued to retch, however that was normal (or as normal as last time) but there was something else, something was stuck in her throat. She could feel somthing slowly making its way up as she gaged, it expanded in her throat and left very little space for air. 

Soon after Alue’k was not only gaging but also gasping. This thing, whatever It was, is blocking her airway but she couldn’t bring it up, no matter how hard she dry heaved. Clawing at her neck she gasped and gargled.

She couldn’t breathe.

She. Couldn’t. Fucking. Breath.

Alue’k was drowning all over again but this time it wasn’t ocean trying to drag her into a watery grave but her own body.

Neteyam panicked as Alue’ks heaved and thrashed in his arms. Wild gasps escaped her lips as she desperately tried to draw air in.

Neteyam is the oldest, he is suppose to know what to do in crisis but now as his sister gasps and gargles for air all he can do is watch. Watch in horror as his shaky hands try to comfort the girl, try to provide some form of support but it’s all in vain.

His sister is drowning … and all he can do is watch.

The younger of the siblings blue face slowly changed to purple as her eyes watered. The lack of oxygen is taking a role on her body, she can feel it. He fingers and toes tingle and her head feel is light. Alue’k knows she doesn’t have much fight left in her, so she makes a choice.

She chooses to survive.

Alue’ks shaky hand reached into her mouth as she hunched over facing the sand. He fingers explored her mouth trying to find the cause of her problem. The young girl gaged as her fingers traveled farther down her throat until … There!

She felt something. 

Trying to bring in shaky breaths Alue’k teary eyes blinked as she wraps her finders around the object. It was slimy, it’s slippery texture making it hard to grasp but once Alue’k had managed to get ahold of it she pulled, hard.

The action causing her to gag as she continues to pull on the thing that’s blocking her airway, now right in Alue’ks grasp she didn’t intend on letting it go. She wasn’t going to die today.

Alue’ks gags didn’t stop as she pulled what seemed to be the longest bit of ocean gill from her throat. She felt each inch of it coming up  and cried in pain as she managed to finally pull the entire thing out.

Alue’k was stuck in a caughing fit as she continued to gag, that was until her stomach contend decided to join the party. 

Now the poor girl was covered in her meal from this morning, tears, snot, blood, sand, salty sea water and in her hand she held a blood splattered ocean gill. 

She was so done with this day.

Alue’k dropped the plant onto the ground as she cried. She cried from the pain, tiredness, frustration and … anger.

She was fucking angry.

Silence.

Total silence … and quiet rage.

The eldest sully had faced many things in his life time, loosing his legs, loosing his brother, being shipped to a completely different planet, nearly dying to protect his new way of life, the stress of parenthood. However nothing could have prepared him for what he was told.

“They tried to drown me.”

Jake couldn’t believe what he’d just heard, someone almost took his child from him. His eye twitched slightly as he processed this new information and to say he was angry would be to drastically downplay the situation.

Hell, to say he felt rage would be a fucking understatement.

What Jake felt, he didn’t even think there was a name for. Some one had tried to take his child from him, tried to kill his baby girl. His sweet, funny and happy baby girl who only ever wanted to make others laugh. 

Jake hadn’t  notices that his inner thoughts had made him miss Alue’k quiet request. 

Neteyam caught on that his dad had managed to miss his sisters question so he gently pushed it forward by placing a hand on his fathers shoulder. When Hake met his eldest eyes he was directed to look once again at Alue’k.

Neteyam - Dad?

Jake once again made eye contact with his daughter fully listing to whatever she had to say. An alarmed look covered his face as he waited for his daughter to say something. 

He held  her tight in his arms, eyes wide and alert. Alue’k quietly chuckled to herself, he looked like what humans called an “Owl”. She had read about them in books Norm had given to her, the man could never say no to “puppy dog eyes” as he called it.

The young girl cuddled closer into his arms trying her best to match her breathing to his. Alue’k had always struggles white the idea of being small, always arguing against it. However, now? She couldn’t deny how small she really was, wrapped in her fathers arms. This is the safest she thinks she’s ever felt.

Alue’k - Can we go home?

Her voice was quiet and hoarse, like sand paper. 

It mad Jake wince. Nodding his head he cupped Alue’ks face, cradling it softly. A gentle smile covered his face as his eyes softened, how could he let this happen? 

He was meant to be the protecter… . How had he become so wrapped up in adapting to his new life that he missed his daughter struggling. Hell, we’re all of his children struggling and he was just blind to it?

Jake - Sure thing baby girl, we’ll go home yeah? We’ll go home, your mamas waiting up for you.

Alue’k sniffles nodding her head in agreement. She held on tight to Jake as he stood up and started to make his way to their marui pod, carrying Alue’k close to his chest. 

That was until an all too familiar feeling of teeth sinking into his calf’s made him stop. Jake stared down at the viper wolf who had never rlly shook the habit of nipping at his calf’s. He looked at his daughter who was reaching down towards the viper wolf, sighing gently he leaned down slightly making it easier for the young girl to pick up her friend.

Tonôwa cooed happily as he laid comfortably on Alue’k, the girl in questions smiles as she scratched under his chin making him purr. Her attention was captured by another however as someone started to frantically call her name.

They voice was quickly identified as Neytiri.

Aleu’k flailed a bit trying to get out of Jakes arms. Jake steadied himself before taking the hint and letting the girl down, he helped her regain her balance but before she could even properly settle on her feet she took of sprinting towards her mom. 

Alue’k - Mama!

Alue’k - Mama!

Her voice grew desperate as she pushed herself to run faster.

Tonôwa still in her arms (not enjoying the very rocky journey).

Neytiri ran faster than she ever thought was possible, she legs burned by the time she reached her precious daughter. When they finally crashed into each other, the force of it brought them both to there knees. Neytiri wrapped her arms around Alue’k, eyes watering out of relief that her daughter was safe.

After a few moments of just being held by Neytiri, Jake joined followed closely by Neteyam and Lo’ak. The all huddled around the girl and pulled each other in. This is the family she almost gave up, at this moment she didn’t believe she could ever forgive herself for that.

Their peace was soon interrupted by screaming, Alue’k braced herself as two bodies came crashing into the Sully family huddle.

Tuk and Kiri.

Kiri cupped her face, resting her forehead on hers while saying a quiet prayer of thanks to Eawa. Tuk just sobbed, wrapping her arms around her sisters waist and begging her never to leave again.

Alue’k had a lot of mixed emotion at the moment: She felt sad, angry, guilty just to name a few. However, right now, there’s no other place she would be then wrapped in her family’s arms.

It’s been at least two hours.

While that might not seem like a tremendous amount of time in the grand scheme of things, for the worried parents it felt like an eternity.

Two hours of their little girl being missing, two hours of their sons scouring the beach’s, two hours of there eldest daughter praying to Eawa for her sisters safe return, two hours of there youngest crying in Ronald arms, two hours of panic, fear and utter parental guilt.

They felt guilty.

They had allowed her time to herself, they had allowed it to get this bad and now they were paying for it. 

Jake wondered the shallow pools, he didn’t think Alue’k would be hiding out here, she hated water but he was running out of ideas and places to search. He pulled his hand down his face, sighing.

His ears perked at the sound of panicked shouting, turning to look at the approaching figure after a moment or so he recognised them. 

It was Eek.

By the time Eek had reached the older man he was panting and out of breath.

Eek - Alue’k. (Gasp) Alue’k.

Jakes eyes widened he rested his hands on the boys shoulders kneeling down to his eye level. Jakes harte was practically jumping out of his chest but he had to stay calm, he had to find his daughter.

Jake - Calm down boy, what happened, where’s Alue’k?

Eek heavy breathing almost came to a complete stop, in fact it looked as if he had stopped breathing all together.

Jake - Eek, where’s Alue’k?

Jakes worry grew as the boy just stared back at him wide eyed his attention was only pulled away from the sound of an all to familiar viper wolf running there way.

Tonôwa.

The little creature races over and started nipping at jakes legs. The noise of Jakes hisses of pain at little tears digging into his heels was enough to pull Eel from his trance.

Eek - Mr Sully, she’s down but the beach but … but somethings wrong.

Jake doesn’t let the boy finish his explanation before he’s running in the direction that Tonôwa is leading him, Eek following close behind.

He’s got to find his little girl.

Jake drew closer to what seemed to be a small huddle of his sons and second youngest daughter. His worry intensified, fearing the worst had happened. Jake though his sons crying over their sister body. 

He ran faster, all the while calling out to his daughter.

She was safe.

Jake had been repeating those words, over and over trying to convince himself that they were true.

Deep down he new.

The moment she hadn’t came home after eclipse Jake had wanted to send out a search party but Neytiri reassured him that Alue’k was just running late.

Neytiri saw her daughters inner struggle, she saw it in they way Alue’ks laughed sounded forced and how her smile wasn’t as bright as it was back home. Who could blame the poor child though? She had her life ripped away from her, having to start completely anew in a place that struggled to accept her. 

Neytiri sometimes wondered if Jake have once felt the same as her daughter, he too had started fresh with an entirely new species with only a small idea of how things actually were. 

However, her husband is strong, he adapts and overcomes easily while Neytiri can see her daughter turning into a shell of her prevues self and it terrifies her.

Neytiri had tried to help, tried to console her daughter but was always met with lies about being “fine” and that she was “okey”. Alue’k was never a good lier, especially to her parents.

The woman new her daughter need time with her thoughts, time alone. Neytiri had been the same after Sylwanin, all she wanted was peace and time alone with her thoughts.

So they let it slide, she was only five minutes late. The parents could scold her later for arriving after curfew, as long as Alue’k felt better that’s all that mattered right?

After an hour the pair grew worried (Well, Jake had been standing on his toes for the past hour but at this point he was nearly jumping off the walls).

Neytiri new her daughter needed time but it had gone on for to long, something was wrong. Panic swirled inside the mother, her daughter, her baby could be in danger and all she had done is sit and wait.

With a new found urgency Neytiri sprung up shortly followed by Jake and her sons. Kiri had sat next to Tuk who was beside worried for her sister as she nervously fiddled with her tail.

Neytiri - Enough of this, we must find her.

They all agreed and went looking for their missing family member. All the while worry and fear built up in the parents, why did it have to be the child that almost dies every chance life gets that had to go missing?

Neteyam? He is responsible, he can be trusted not to get himself into too much danger. 

Lo’ak? Just follow the fire, he’s probably at the other end of it.

Kiri? She’s knows self preservation (must have gotten that from Grace as not many of the other Sully kids have that) she won’t willingly put herself in danger.

Tuk? Follows around her siblings, look for them and you’ve found her.

Alue’k? … Only Eawa knows.

Neytiri had went to search the small wooded area near the Metkayina village, it was small but large enough for a child to get lost in.

While Jake went to Tonowari, he knew Alue’k had befriended the chief son so  he prayed to Eawa that Alue’k was with them.

Sadly that wasn’t the case.

Tonowari had offered to help in the search and after a thank you, Tonowari, Tesriya, Anoung and Eek were out searching for the young girl.

Ronal stayed with Tuk in the Sully pod incase Alue’k made an appearance, Ronal also sympathised with the poor child crying over their sister. Ronal encouraged Tuk to pray to Eawa with her for her sisters safe return.

Ronal - Oh grate mother, I ask that the young child of the Suli family, Alue’k, is returned safely and in good health. Please great mother I ask upon your mercy and your loving, guiding light.

Tuk wiped away a stray tear that slid down her face.

Tuk - Please great mother, please.

Ronal watched the child a small sad smile appearing, Ronal had faith in the will of Eawa. The great mother was fair and true in protecting the balance she wouldn’t take a life so unlived, not yet, not when this child had so much life left to live.

 Thats what she hoped.

Anger.

The definition is - a strong feeling of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility.

Alue’k didn’t like this emotion. She believed it made people do rash, harsh things, made them not think things through and hurt the people they loved. It made people hurt.

She didn’t want people to hurt.

However, now, Alue’k only wanted them to hurt. The bloody plant she had pulled from her lungs was her evidence of their cruelty, not to mention the cuts on her neck and bruised face. They had made her suffer … now she wanted the same for them. 

She wanted them to hurt like she hurt, in time she knew they would but right now she just wanted her family. She crumbled into herself as painful sobs shook her body, Alue’k cliched the blood speckled gill weed to her chest. She didn’t know why, she couldn’t let it go.

Neteyam and Lo’ak where at a loss, they just watched their sister, there baby sister pull a plant from her throat, a plant what was covered in drops of blood.

Neteyam was the first to move, he shuffled close to his sister wrapping his arms around her a pulled her close.

Lo’ak moved shortly after cuddling into his brothers side and grasping Alue’ks hand. 

No words were spoken just silence, comfortable silence.

… - Alue’k! Alue’k!

Eek - This way.

Tonôwa - Bark! Bark!

Shouting (and barking, curtsy of Tonôwa) could be heard from further up the beach, just by the tree line. The three sibling looked in the direction of the sound and a small pit opened in Alue’ks tummy.

Tonôwas came rushing towards his friend and all but ran into her open arms. He rubbed his face into hers, licking at her tear stained face making Alue’k smile, she cuddled close to her friend. Her smile dropped however when she spotted the cut above his shoulder, it was fresh dried blood cling to his skin around the wound. She was going to send these boys back to Eawa.

The two figures made their way down the beach towards the huddles siblings. Alue’k held Tonôwa tight as she buried herself further into Neteyam.
