i drew Palik and Tonsa since i ahve been wanting to draw some of the couples in my books. This scene is likely during a PTA meeting or something on Tonsa’s homeworld, which was only exposed to aliens about three decades ago. Needless to say Palik is probably the only alien that actually lives there and attracts a lot of unwanted attention from everyone on the planet.

Tonsa: “Since you all cant seem to get over this, let me tell you all right here and right now! This is Palik, he is my husband and he is an alien! We have a daughter together, we live here, and he is willing to stay here and raise our daughter together despite the weather being able to kill him!”

Palik thinking: (Why does she always do this? I dont mind their staring that much.)

Palik and Tonsa’s mairrage

tonsa is the daughter of the ambassador for her entire race. her mother is the voice of her species to the galactic society as a whole. as such her family has quite a bit of influence in the nok’sanid society since her mother has the final say on most things involving aliens and space.

Tonsa does have a sibling, a younger adopted nok’sanid male named Nay. He is widely known to be asexual. so if anyone wants to marry into the power the family has, they have to marry Tonsa. Unfortunately for them she has been dating Palik out of the public eye for quite some time.

One day after she was getting sick of all the messages sent to her by hundreds of other nok’sanids trying to court her, she decided she had enough. She asked palik if he wanted to marry her. He was hesitant at first since it was rather sudden and Palik had the confidence of a man on fire told to work at an explosives factory. he wanted to marry her eventually, so it wasnt hard for him to agree to it.

at a random conglomerate courthouse, they got married and sent a copy of the certificate to her mother so she could finally tell the suitors to go away. soon it was revealed that they were the first interracial marriage to involve a nok’sanid. also unsurprisingly with a gudrian. despite seeming like a marriage of convenience, they truly love eachother.

i have made it canon that Nok’sanids will molt maybe once or twice a year. So when Palik and Tonsa get to the point where they live together, he has to deal with her leaving these tiny red feathers only a few inches long everywhere. they get all over his clothes and furniture.

Palik and Tonsa’s marriage

i never really talk about the actual event in my books, its only briefly explained. Tonsa comes from an influential family since her mother is the ambassador for her species. and the way galactic politics works, she is one of the most influential members of her species despite being originally disliked by most governments who were just salty about not being able to pick their own candidate for the job.

of course when she got older, other nok’sanids tried to court her so they could marry into the powerful family. they had little options since her parents were still very alive and her only sibling is an adopted brother who so far has shown no interest in dating at all. truthfully, most of the suitors could barely find a reason to be with her aside from her family.

She has brain damage from an attempted assassination (it just stops her from feeling most pain, but the public was largely unaware of this and just knew she had brain damage.) She traveled a lot with an unknown party, she has a crippling fear of drowning, her eyes were an odd color, and she tended to be quick to resort to violence.

Tonsa knew this and was easily able to tell why the suitors were really trying to court her. one day she got tired of it and visited her gudrian friend Palik who she has been dating in secret for a long time. they kept it a secret since Tonsa’s race was recently contacted by galactic society and was still trying to get used to the idea of aliens. She found him and immediately asked him to marry her. While Palik was certainly in love with her, he was unsure about how marriage between them would work since they are two separate races.

Palik was initially very hesitant but finally accepted it. they went to a random courthouse and got married there. once they returned home after a lengthy time away from their families, Tonsa made sure to tell the public that she had been married. but she left any details about her new partner a mystery, she wanted to wait before she told the public she married a short grey lizard.
