Can we just discuss someone telling Tony that he's too emotional?

That dude hopefully has a good plastic surgeon because God help his nose if Rhodey is around to hear that.

((Or anyone else fond of Tony. Let’s go with Natasha because I am BREATHING TonyNat friendship like air.))

HONESTLY, Tony’s been told from the start that he can’t show emotions, because that will be seen as a weakness. I cant remember if they actually used that famous “Stark men don’t cry” line in the MCU ((Doubt it)) but !!!!!!!!!

BUT!!!!!!!!!!!

Howard made damn sure to teach Tony not to be emotional/ hide his emotions and as we see, it IS a struggle for Tony to open up about something to someone. It requires a shitload of trust from him and he’s incredibly quick to retreat back into his shell if that trust is broken in any way.

Like, we do see him emotional when he gets surprised but RATHER it happens when he’s alone. ((Or when he’s around Rhodey))

SO YEAH

May God rest the poor bastard’s soul who decided to tell Tony he’s “too emotional” because Tony sure as hell ain’t that emotional to begin with and showing emotions takes a lot for him SO 

a line like that would only make him feel worse cue him reverting into his “press smile and devil may care attitude” to defend himself.

Rhodey makes short work of that asshole’s nose.

Natasha makes sure they never find that guy again.

Head canon that Tony and Natasha were so excited to see the remake of "The Day the Earth Stood Still" that the rest of the Avengers let them have the experience to themselves. All of the sudden a scream rings out originating from the rec room. The Avengers run in thinking that their teammates are being attacked, but all they find is the TV off and Tony sobbing into a pillow. "Dispose of this," Natasha hisses, shoving the DVD at Clint. "Immediately." They're sci-fi snobs and very disappointed.

(Based on my sixty-year-old father being super excited for the remake and then being incredibly disappointed. "They didn't even keep the original message. Why even remake it if they were going to do that?" He no longer trusts Keanu Reeves. It's so sad.) Tony seems like the type that would honestly be heartbroken at the changes made.

Omg ahahaha, the team would be SO confused and they get even more confused when finding Tasha and Tony like this- 

I fully approve of sci-fi nerd Tony and Nat who take this very, VERY serious and who are personally offended at this!

Now I can’t stop thinking about Natasha going in and out at Stark Tower (and the Malibu house) ((and every other Tony Stark-owned property)) whenever she needs a safe space or clothes or whatever

And in return, she teaches Tony self-defense techniques and how to kill someone with your pinky and super cool spy-stuff like this

More Tony/Nat brOTP stuff

Cataloguing each other’s scars and getting really weirdly competitive about the crazy story behind each one. It’s basically drunken MIT shenanigans vs life threatening assassination attempts (No cheating) (What’dya mean no cheating.) (You know what. -knocks her knuckles against the arc reactor-)

Tony and Nat both working to cover most of the scars are her body for when she’s going undercover. Nat helping him cover the worst of the arc reactor scars for his photoshoots. The two of them arguing about which work best. (Should I cover the thigh one too?) (-Sigh- Yes.) (If it helps, you still look like you can kill a man without the razor blade trail. All the in face.)

Taking over the common room so they can lounge around in giant snuggies and fuzzy socks and so they can go from being the world’s most attractive to the least. 

Nat blasting pop songs and Top 40s in Tony’s lab as she spares with the robot he’s built for Steve (Most obvious love letter ever) (Shut it.). Nat passing out on the cot in the lab after missions after she patches herself out because Tony keeps an extensive set of medical supplies for tough but still breakable assassins.

Drinking buddies forever. Impromptu drink mixing competitions in the common room.

Nat at Tony’s side during galas and stuff like that, swiping food for him and making quiet when he runs into assholes (Want me to kill him? I’ll make it quick.) (Pffft, leave it. He’s just an asshole.) (Okay. I’ll make it slow.)

tony/rhodey or tony/nat brotp?

I wouldn’t pick one over the other to be honest. I would pick both.

“You two are ridiculous.” Natasha says scrolling through the conversation on Tony’s phone to Rhodes who is currently away, hence her dealing with a pouting Stark.

“Hello pot.”

Nat only rolls her eyes still reading. “Just because I’m a black widow does not mean I’m as lost a cause as you.”

“ерунда.” Is all Tony bothers to reply with. But he does lean up against her arm to look at the conversation. “You know you don’t have to be here right?”

“Who else would look after you? Make sure to feed and water you properly.” 

Tony just glowers at her with no real heat.

“I know you miss him. He’s the sort you miss.” Natasha says more honest than her earlier teasing, affectionate as it may be.

“This mean I can tell him you like him?”

“No.”

Tony just pokes her wanting an explanation. It takes a few more before she concedes.

“Let him sweat a little more first. It’s endearing.” 

It’s the right answer if Tony’s laughter is anything to go by.
