GRAMMATICS were one of those bands that deserved so much more than they got. i genuinely thought they were going to be huge.

not to be dramatic but owen brinley has looked 27 years old for approximately 27 years.
meanwhile i have aged emotionally by at least three centuries since discovering grammatics in 2009. their album GRAMMATICS ‘Grammatics’ IS THE THING
but honestly, it was always the voice for me. there was something so gentle and heartbreaking about it. one of those voices that could make you nostalgic for something that never even happened.
i still end up following every project he’s involved in. colour of fire, grammatics, too much future
and Nostalgia for a Future That Never Came remains one of the most devastatingly beautiful song titles ever written.
some musicians become part of your life so quietly that years later you don’t even realise you’ve been carrying them with you the whole time.
I don’t know why we culturally decided to make dispensaries like that but it’s awful and I hate it

In the Too Much Future episode on Honest Hearts they call Joshua Graham “J. E. Sawyer’s cool OC” and now that’s all I think about when I see posts about him.
