I am not aware that there ever was a m/m pr stunt with a closeted celeb. Like, it made no sense, when one part is not out and obviously don't want to change that. I also never witnessed the press being so bold and shameless pushing a dating narrative involving a NOT OUT actor. This is so rude and unprofessional. So, what is this thing with f/c?
It's certainly not the 34th soft launch. People really need to understand what a soft launch is. You can't have dozens of them and people still don't know what's going on for real.
Is C just too naiv to get behind the scheming f is playing? Is he so desperate for friends that he reads the situation the wrong way? I don't know.
I think we have to wait and see what the snl week will bring. If he shows up with f again in ny, than the press will know no stop here. And I am afraid he might ruining his branding as an professional actor too, because the press already is not writing about him in a professional way anymore, but as the new "IT gay boy toy" way. And that's certainly not the branding he was hoping for while he tries to establish himself as a new brand and serious actor in the industry.
I think we all can agree, that Hollywood is still massiv homophobic. There weren't as many actors in the closet and some with beards, if a coming out wouldn't still have a major impact on your carrer. It could still end your career or cut your chances.
This whole thing is a mess and makes no sense to me.
Hi, anon!
You're making some assumptions here that i don't agree with.
First, you say that Connor is not out. While that might be true, i also wouldn't consider him to be closeted. Closeting implies hiding your sexuality in fear of repercussions. It means putting restrictions on behaviour and presentation. Being out means having stated your sexuality with words, which is only neccessary in order for straight or heteronormative people to pick up on it. So there is a middle thing here.
Connor is closer to being out than he is being closeted. He's not hiding anything, he's willingly sharing his queer experience, he's queer presenting and it's not restricing his freedom to be who he is. He's living his truth. There is no need for any fan to guard Connors closet for him. That can do more harm than good. Connor is choosing, as i see it, to not make his sexuality his entire personality, so he's chosing not to talk about it. Even though it's obvious to most people. That doesn’t mean he's not proud of being gay or trying to hide it. He doesn’t mind speculation about his sexuality. He's got nothing to hide.
The PR thing with FA is still very much in the region of plausible deniability. They can still go "but Connor is straight" or they can go "they're just friends". They can back out of it. For now, they're enjoying the attention it brings and the speculation it invites. Connor is in on this, it's all set up, so trust Connor to know where all this is going. Again, there is no need for fans to guard his closet for him. He is control of the narrative and how much he wants to divulge to the public.
Secondly, Hollywood is NOT homophobic, and i've said this a hundred times by now... Hollywood wants to make money... they are a reflection of what society wants at large. Right now society wants gay hockey players on their screens. Out and proud Jonathan Bailey was the highest grossing actor of 2025. Unless you want to do movies aimed at straight men, like action movies, being out won't stop you getting opportunities. At least if you're straight passing like both Connor and Hudson are.
I personally don't think neither Connor or Hudson would agree to being closeted to further their careers. If they are dating and want to establish seperate brands, they might agree to hide their relationship by doing PR relationships, but not hide their sexualities. If they were trying to hide their sexualities we'd see a whole other type of behaviour from them. That's not what were seeing.
So sexuality is one thing (they're not hiding or protecting it, they just want to be seen as more than their sexualities) and their relationship status is another thing. IMO they're happy for people to know they're queer.
