Over the course of the year, we’ve had many of our students ask about where to begin when purchasing hand planes. Buying used/vintage planes can be daunting to the inexperienced, while some simply don’t have the budget to buy the premium brands. With that in mind, we decided to invest in some vintage hand planes and we’ll be refurbishing and tuning them up to give students another option when buying planes. These planes will be ready to use, out of the box, with new irons when needed, all sharpened and ready to work. We’re hoping this service will provide a middle ground for reasonably priced hand planes without the hassle of bidding online or rummaging through flea markets.
