Spell Gone Wrong
A blinding flash, the overwhelming smell of ink, and suddenly the world was different. Things looked… off, but in a way that couldn’t quite be explained.
Skye groaned, raising a hand to rub at their eyes. Wait. That’s not right. A white gloved hand hovered in their field of vision. None of the toons should be in here… Did they sneak in again?
Skye flexed their fingers and watched as the hand did what their hand should have done. A slow realization was building, but Skye pushed the thought away to stand and look around.
“Skye? Are… you alright?” Joey’s voice, coming from their right. Skye turned to see him looking uneasy. While this wasn’t a new expression, it was unusual for it to be directed at Skye. It had been quite some time since the last attempt at fixing their visions, and nothing of note had happened- Hold on. Something- something happened to me, didn’t it.
They took a breath to steady themself. “Yeah, I think I’m okay. What happened?” Joey laughed nervously. Skye fixed him with a glare. “Joey. What happened. To me?”
“Er. Well- the spell- the spell should have-“ Their glare deepened. “You seem to have been turned into a toon!”
Oh.
Well.
That explained the hand.
“Can you fix this? Soon?” Joey nodded, already flipping through his spellbook. Well, it’ll take half an hour at least, so I better get used to it until then. “Wait. You think I can still work like this?”
Joey paused, surprised. “I-I mean, I don’t see why not? It’s probably best if you stay away from ink for the most part, though. Just to be safe.”
“Got it. See you when you figure it out!” Skye waved, heading out the door. They shut the door and paused, a thought occurring. Do toon physics apply to me like this? ...If that’s the case, then… They snickered, ideas already forming. To the Music Department!
