Jack’s first reaction is surprise. The Guardian is almost quite literally frozen by the confusion that follows. When was the last time someone did this to him? Has anyone even done that since the day he died? Eyebrows frown as he tries to process it. One thing he knows for certain is that this gesture doesn’t feel bad. It’s nice and relaxes him and he wants it again. But asking feels odd and Jack knows he shouldn’t get his hopes up with this kind of stuff.

He gives her a smile, one that shows his confusion and inner feelings just a tad-- but mostly happiness.

“Uh. . . Thanks. . . Tooth. . . I--” ‘Don’t know what I did to deserve this’ is what he wants to say but. “I appreciate it.”

      “  tooth -  “  he hated being like this ,  sensitive & whiny ,  having woken up from yet another nightmare .  not that it mattered ,  that had been an hour ago ,  now all the guardians in north’s place ,  another meeting done .  aster hated how she could see through his comments ,  as well as notice how tired he was thanks to his slightly red eyes .  he needed sleep ,  but the eggs came first .

      “  i’m fine ,  i swear -  jus’ need a lil’ sleep ,  i guess . . .  “  it would have been easy if it was just that ,  really .  but being afraid to even fall asleep was a problem he had to fix himself .  “  don’ worry abou’ me mate ,  a’igh’ ?  “
