Yeah but no legitimately toothpaste being only mint flavoured is horrible. Let me help you with an example.
My father can't stand the taste of mint. He tells me it shouldn't be a flavour & humans shouldn't be consuming it. He used to buy Colgate cinnamon flavoured toothpaste bc he couldn't stand mint. Then Colgate changed the recipe to "cinnamint" & he had to stop using Colgate. Dad then tried using kid's toothpaste (bc they can be watermelon or bubblegum etc flavoured) but he couldn't stand them bc they were too sweet & fake. (I am a pastry chef, I love desserts, I have adhd so I'm more easily addicted to sugar, & yet) even I can't stand kid's toothpaste. The only brand that sells toothpaste any other flavour is "close up" & it's cinnamon. Both cinnamon & mint are painfully sharp on your tongue, kid's toothpaste makes you feel like throwing up, so what do you do? Sometimes you can find gourmet toothpaste, like Anise & Orange, but I've only ever seen the anise in person, & my parents told me about the orange.
Personally I struggle to brush my teeth for however long I'm supposed to bc the mint burns my tongue & mouth & it's painful.
Toothpaste needs to be more accessible. Teeth are very important: cavities & tooth decay can lead to periodontal disease, which can lead to heart attacks. (In short. It's more complicated than that.) Privitized dental care is a health risk for poor ppl, homeless ppl, ppl w/o jobs & insurance & benefits, & disabled & mentally ill ppl.
If I can't brush my teeth bc the cinnamon burns my tongue, the mint burns my tongue or I don't like it, &the kid's toothpaste makes me throw up, & I can find or afford gourmet toothpaste, what do I have left? Bad teeth, that's what.
Open up dental care! Let ppl who can't stand certain toothpastes have more options! Let homeless ppl & ppl w/o benefits/insurance get dental care! Help disabled ppl take care of their teeth! I haven't even touched very much on anything more than flavours!
More toothpaste flavours! Less harsh toothpaste flavours! We need to make a change.
