RAKING all 16 songs on Taylor Swift’s NEW album “Folklore”
First off, I love this album to pieces, the creative use of making a relative idea into a folk tale / stories to just get lost in. This ranking took me so long since there are 16 SONGS!!. Which is incredible and I was so happy. This does not include the deluxe song.
Overall the album brings a new light to folk, country and acoustic style. It’s like a modern version of the genre but still feels traditional. The album supports the aesthetic style of the woods and nature, while the music has a feeling of reflection of relationships, places and situations. Since we have all been in isolation, we reflect and feel. We are so lucky to get to see an insight of her letting herself be creative, while she is in that state of reflecting. Even though it’s another genre, she has paired these songs with other songs she has previously written. I was listening to this on the bus on the way home from University and omg these songs are amazing while looking out the window it makes you feel reflective and empowered to get through the hard times.
Enjoy my rankings!! And let me know what you would rank them.

The story and writing are good, but some of the words used throughout the songs I was not a fan of. I love the second half of the song the most.
The song just didn’t get me, but again great vocals and the emotional effect is great.
I liked the message, but I didn’t find the song very emotionally attaching. Other than that, very talented.
Personally, this wasn’t one of my favourites, but I appreciate the artist sense of the duet and showing a story through both eyes.
Interesting beginning to the album, you can hear in her singing that she is looking back on her teen years and past relationship. It’s a great song to just chill out while journaling or painting.
A nice ending to the album and you feel like it’s a mix of Taylor. Very emotional and deep. Makes you think.
Now she is seeing the beauty in her old relationships and recognising how they have made her grown.
This has a completely different vibe than any other song, reminds me of the archer a bit. But other than that, Taylor hasn’t sung a song in this style before. Very calm and relaxing, I could fall asleep while listening to this song.
She is just getting down to the point of how throughout her youth, she was trying her hardest. It is hard to be perfect and to make someone completely happy.
‘the last great american dynasty’
It’s a little upbeat and the song keeps me awake from not falling asleep gracefully in a flower field. In my opinion it goes perfectly with Miss Americana and the heartbreak prince.
I feel like I am 17 walking through a county town with the sun shining down and getting excited but down about a boy who rejected me, but I was so obsessed with them.
Love the message portraying that when she was younger, she in fact did learn a lot and looking back on how she might of wanted to share that more. In those time, she couldn’t speak out, the one thing she was certain about was the love she had.
I love the little grove in it, but it’s also serious, the theme of running away and being together and safe was warming to me. A love where you want to help them but they don’t notice you, however, you know about them.
This is a song that speaks so much truth and how women are blamed on being mad about love, well maybe that is because she had a bad experience with love.
The story of this one is so amazing; it gives me last kiss vibes due to the way the story is told through the song.
This sets the whole mood for the album other than betty. It’s something new from Taylor and I love the idea of love being where you just shine for them and want them to see you and express that.
