#1 - The save
This is what started Izuku down the past he’s on right now and no matter how you look at tit, it shows that Izuku cares about Bakugou. They’ve been friends their whole lives and even though Katsuki was just a complete asshole to him, Izuku still sat his own issues aside and run into certain death to save him.
This is where the series hooked me. To watch Izuku desperately doing everything he could to save someone he cared so much about, I had to know more. I had to watch their relationship grow.
#2 - Stay Back, Deku
I will fully admit that I was on edge about shipping them before this. Like I could see it but I wasn’t going out of my way for it. But this. This just sealed the deal for me. Izuku cares so much about Katsuki he would die for him, and Katsuki knows it. He’s spent his entire life watching this kid follow him to the ends of the Earth, why wouldn’t he follow him now? So scared out of his mind, he told Izuku to stay back. Katsuki protected Izuku in that moment.
What was Izuku going to do if he had made it through? Die. That’s what. He had two broken arms and his body was almost completely destroyed. His body was shutting down without him realizing because he was being so stubborn he refused to feel pain.
Katsuki has known “Walking Klutz” Izuku Midoriya for the majority of both their lives. He knew what would happen and told him to stay back.
#3 Acceptance
Boy have we got to watch these boys grow. Things are starting to change but Katsuki didn’t let things fall one way or another. He took responsibility for what happened and owned up to it. Izuku also took on his share of the blame. From here we have started to see them change but it wasn’t until All Might explained things that started to see him clam down. Katsuki himself said it would be different now, and he’s changing.
I’m proud for how far my boys have come.
