Summary: Using some self-made aphrodisiac you hoped your knight in shining armor would fall for you.
Masterlist
“Rose petals, orange blossoms and lastly root of vision”, you murmured as you drizzled the ingredients into the hot bath water. You bit down on your lower lip, closing your eyes momentarily and praying the aphrodisiac would work this time around.
The doors to the chambers opened and another servant announced the arrival of knight Seunghyun.
You quickly revealed yourself from behind the partition, bowing deeply in a form of greeting. You saw how the other servants excused themselves like usual and closed the door behind them - leaving Seunghyun in your care.
He nodded in acknowledgment, beckoning you towards him with a movement of his hands.
You rushed towards him, helping him out of his clothing and the protective gear. Most of the time you worked in silence as Seunghyun seemed to be more of the quiet type. Still, you weren’t allowed to leave him alone at all.
Seunghyun thanked you shortly with his deep voice, walking around the screen and getting into the bathtub.
You felt your heart racing, hearing how the water splashed around as he got into it. Once the sound subsided, you followed him. You grabbed the softest sponge and used it to scrub over his tanned skin.
He always moved perfectly so you could easily clean him - even without you saying a word.
This time though you wanted to change everything up a little. Somehow you feared the erotic bath spell wouldn’t be enough, so you also created an oil made of the fruit from the underworld. “Would you like me to rub you down with an essential oil as well?”
Seunghyun turned his head slightly, looking at you silently from the corner of his eyes. He mulled over your words a moment longer, before he nodded in agreement.
You were about to put some oil on the sponge, when his large hand stopped you. “Please use your hands to rub it in.”
If it was possible your heart rate spiked even more. You smiled softly and put a few drops from the oil on your hand, rubbing your palms together to warm it up and then massaging it into his neck and shoulders.
Seunghyun’s head dropped forward and a deep groan filled the room. He cursed silently, feeling how his tense muscles began to relax under your careful ministrations.
Before you knew what was happening, Seunghyun grabbed your lower arms and pulled you into the tub with him.
You shrieked in surprise, eyes widening as the water immediately started soaking your clothes. Your heart hammered against your ribcage and you feared he’d notice it.
He nosed along your jawline, his lips brushing against your skin. With one of his hands he held both your wrists tightly secured in front of your chest. His other hand wandered down the side of your body, grabbing your butt and pulling you even closer against his naked body.
Seunghyun inhaled deeply, pressing his nose into the juncture of your neck and shoulder. “Next time you want to seduce me, use your natural scent, my little witch. I like that more.”

WARNINGS: none (for now heh)
It was a while since I’ve seen him last…
I sat in the cab and stared at the message my best friend had sent me hours ago, thumbs hovering over the letters on the display, but I couldn’t form a proper sentence.
“Y/N, he will be discharged today! We arrange a surprise party for him!”
I knew exactly who “he” was, and even if it weren’t a question Jiyong had asked, I could still feel the big question mark on my shoulders. Do I wanted to see him? Do I want to see the others?
Questions over questions and I couldn’t even answer one for myself. I typed a fast “OK” and a thumbs-up Emoji before I pressed the Send button. It wasn’t much, in fact it was insultingly sparse, but I didn’t know what else to write.
Even though I needed the full day for my short message I got the response within a few seconds.
“What should I tell him?”
Clear as day I could imagine my best friends face while waiting for my answer. Of course, Jiyong didn’t mean it like that, but still, I could read the obvious undertone in his message.
“I don’t know. Actually, I don’t care, it wasn’t my decision-“ I pressed the Delete button and started again “Okay, I’ll be there. But I’ll only stay a few minutes.”
Now I got a smile and thumbs-up from him. The exact opposite of how I felt right now…
The cab stopped a few minutes later and I had to take a deep breath before I was brave enough to leave the warmth and safety of the car. The villa taunted me by towering into the sky while I felt like an ant. A baby ant. I have been here hundreds of times; I knew the house from the bottom to the roof like it was my own. Countless times I shared kisses and sweet nothings with my former lover. But now it was gone.
My fingertip hovered over the bell and for a fleeting moment I thought about leaving. I mean, nobody knew I was already here, right? But before I could finish the thought in my head, the door snapped open, and I stared at two brown eyes.
“Y/N! What are you doing here?” Youngbae’s voice sounded surprised but pleased at the same time.
“Hi.” I smiled slightly and ran my fingers through my hair. “Jiyong messaged me.”
“I see. Well, it’s nice to see and have you here! The others will be glad too- I just forgot something in my car, be right back.” And with that he was gone, and I stood alone in the entrance hall.
Loud music and laughter bounced through the rooms when I reached the living room and passed through it, but I couldn’t find my best friend, just hundreds of strangers who enjoyed expensive wine and cigars.
I sighed and wished to be in my small apartment, snuggled into a thick blanket on my sofa, eating ice cream and watching some K-Drama till I was a crying mess again. Instead, I stood there in Louboutin’s and tight pants in a house that barely belonged to my safe places anymore. What was I doing here?
Already annoyed I grabbed my phone and texted Jiyong that I was here, he was nowhere to be found.
“On the roof” was all I got back two minutes later and so I decided to take the elevator considering my choice of shoes. On the top floor there were less people, probably because it was Jiyong’s private VIP section for other celebrities or just woman he wanted to nail.
“Jiyong?” I called his name and a few girls in too small bikinis turned their heads in my direction and then started to whisper when I passed them. I ignored them, already knowing what they were saying.
“Is that her?” another, not so discreet, voice asked, and I turned around, suddenly full of confidence.
“She is. And she wants to know where Jiyong is.”
“I’m here ma petite.”
I smiled because of the nickname and turned around to face Jiyong who looked like always: A big smile on his lips trying to hide the tired and exhausted expression on his beautiful face. I bet he hadn’t slept in days…
“Hey” I said and embraced his bear hug while his face was buried in my neck and hair- as always.
“I’m so glad you came, you know, when you didn’t read my text for hours, I was sure you wouldn’t respond to it and just ignore me.”
“Well, that was the plan at first” I admitted and coughed slightly while he bursted out laughing “But then I thought that it would be a bit rude and now I’m here. But not for long.”
He snorted and nodded towards the bar “Do you want to see him?”
My brain immediately screamed NO WAY! But my heart started to ache in a painfully delicious way.
“Sure” I answered, “That’s why I’m here.”
Seunghyun looked like always- and that was what caught me off guards. In my daydreams he was fat and full of pimples, which was completely excessive, he came from his military service, but it made things easier for me if I imagined him this way.
But now that I saw him for the first time in 18 months, it felt like a huge slap in the face. He was big and even more muscular now, although he slimmed down a bit, but not much. His pitch-black hair was perfectly styled and the dark suit fitted him like it was made to be on his body, which it probably was. I stared at the watch on his wrist which I gave him many moons ago and my heart began to throb - he still had it?
He was a gentleman with his whole being. He was Choi Seunghyun.
However, I felt like I never lost those twenty pounds and that my stylish haircut was replaced by my old and boring hairdo. I could even feel the braces on my teeth again although I didn’t have them since high school. Dammit. I quickly turned around and nearly ran towards the elevator. It was a mistake to come here…
“Y/N.”
I closed my eyes and muttered a quiet “Fuck” before I turned around to face my biggest weakness. He only spoke one word, but the deep voice cut through me, and I started to tremble.
“Seunghyun.” I responded and wished I had the same confidence in my voice as he did. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, so I just put a hand on my hip and hoped to compensate for my nervousness with this small gesture.
His look wandered from my shoes over my body and to my eyes where he finally stopped and gave me a smirk.
“You look ravishing.”
I gulped. Only Choi Seunghyun could break your heart in one minute and in the other one he would give you an honest compliment.
“Thank you.” I said and repeated what he did mere seconds ago but kept the compliments to myself. He noticed it because his smile widened, a small nod and a delightful slug of his wine was all he did. Everything he did looked so easy and smooth.
I grabbed a glass for myself when a waiter passed us and for the first time in eternity I received an astonished look from the handsome man in front of me.
“You don’t drink.” A statement, not a question and it almost made me roll my eyes. Instead of an answer I just gulped it down at once and gave it back to the startled waiter from whom I grabbed another glass.
“Wrong, Seunghyun. The old me didn’t drink, the new me doesn’t care what you think.”
Ouch. I regretted the words the moment they left my mouth. He smiled ruefully.
“I want to apologize.” He whispered, “I sure didn’t want to offend you in any way.”
“No… only breaking my heart and then leaving for your national duty.”
I noticed the silence and the looks when it was already too late. I really said it. Everyone stared at us, I could even see Jiyong’s expression although he was on the other side of the bar.
“Y/N, I-“ Seunghyun started but I cut him off and pushed my wine glass in his hand.
“Forget it. It was a mistake to show up.”
I made my way through the overcrowded house and ran outside to finally breathe again. The air was cool and oddly comfortable, so I decided to walk to the next bus stop, maybe I’d call a cab or sit there for the whole night. After a few minutes I felt already better and the watering of my eyes had also stopped. Stupid, stupid me… I scolded myself. Why did you drink? You have a low tolerance for alcohol, why would you even drink it in one go?!
“Can I give you a ride home?”
I flinched at the sudden voice and the car next to me.
“No, thanks.”
“You know, if necessary, I’ll escort you like this until you’re home.”
“Dammit Seunghyun!” I suddenly yelled, “Why does it always have to be your way? I’m an adult and I can manage myself!”
My arms gestured wildly while the car slowly and steadily rolled next to me.
“I can make my own decision, thank you very much. Also, I know exactly what’s good for me and surprise, surprise, it is not you!”
“You will ruin your Louboutin’s.”
I sighed, took my shoes off and continued walking. I could hear him quietly laughing before he stopped the car, suddenly standing in front of me.
“Y/N, to be very honest I would really like to order you to get in the car right now, but you are not the only one who changed in the last months… So, I ask you to get in so I can bring you home safely.”
We remained silent for a few moments before I gave him a small nod. Fine. It was just a 20-minute drive anyway.
We didn’t talk the whole ride, there was only some quiet classical music coming from the radio. Probably Beethoven.
“Thank you.” I said when he stopped in front of my old building. I moved out weeks after he went to the military, but in fact, I’d never told him. I would just call a cab from here.
“It was really nice seeing you again.” He muttered and his cologne hit my nose. I didn’t dare to look but I bet he came closer, probably to open the door for me. I nearly jumped out of the car- the space between us became way too small.
I watched him drive away and waited a few minutes before I dialed the number for the taxi company. He’s gone, Y/N, I told myself.
It felt good to come home- even the buzzing from the elevator in my apartment building felt familiar and trusting. This was my home, my comfort zone where I felt safe. I opened the door and undressed myself, letting the clothes hit the ground. When I turned to the bathroom something felt different… but I couldn’t figure out what it was. Did I lock the door?
A soft purr suddenly jogged my memory: Snowball didn’t welcome me home at the door. This was odd, he always did. But now I could hear him purr and it came from the living room. Did a cat purr when it was all alone?
Before I properly thought about it, I grabbed the nearest vase and tiptoed along the corridor. There’s someone in my apartment. My mind froze when I saw the dark silhouette sitting on the sofa. I shivered when I reached for the light switch, not even realizing that I was almost naked and trying to fight a possible intruder. Maybe he would blush to death?
The light blinded me for only one second before I screamed, and the vase crashed on the floor beneath me. Seunghyun on the other hand just sat there while calmly caressing the belly of my cat. Traitor.
“WHAT THE-“ I screamed, “SEUNGHYUN?!”
“Hi again.” He spoke softly, but oh boy, it didn’t help at all. “You could have told me your new address.”
“You…you…” I started but my mind couldn’t produce a good enough insult “You didn’t ask.”
“I wanted to know if you would tell me by yourself.”
“How do you even know this address and how the fuck did you get in here?!”
“Well… to answer your first question, you posted a pic on your Instagram showing your new view, so I figured you moved. Nice neighborhood, exceptionally clean and quiet.” He nodded like he would talk to himself “A friend of mine lived in this area a while back, so I know it well. And it wasn’t that hard to ask for your name at the front desk.”
His words left me completely bewildered, unable to say something in return.
“And to answer your second question; you still hide your keys under the artificial plants at your front door.”
Drabble: “Is there a banana in your pants, or are you just excited to see me?”
You always had a major crush on Tyler Joseph, and you knew that he had feelings for you too but he was just too chicken to tell you. Josh teased Tyler about it all the time, and you knew that them inviting you to the show tonight would be your chance to finally get Tyler to reveal his feelings for you.
You stood off stage and watched as Tyler quickly snuck behind his piano as Josh was moved out into the audience for drum island. You locked eyes with Tyler as looked at you from behind his piano and Josh did his drum solo during Morph. Your favorite part of watching him play at his concerts was teasing him from the side of the stage. You raised your eyebrow at Tyler who returned it with a little wave.
“You look good,” Tyler mouthed to you and you smirked. You were wearing a short camo skirt and a black tank top. You pretended to drop your phone and you bent over, knowing that you were probably driving Tyler crazy, which was exactly what you were trying to do. You turned back around and Tyler’s eyes were wide.
“What’s wrong?” you mouthed back and Tyler looked awkwardly around before mouthing a “nothing” back. The crowd erupted into a cheer signaling that Josh was done and Tyler had to go perform. He stood up and you watched him adjust his pants, and you knew you accomplished what you had wanted to do.
For the rest of the concert every time Tyler would look over to you and you would give him a suggestive look, and it seemed like Tyler would reciprocate them some of the times. You waited patiently until the concert ended and you followed Tyler back to the tour bus.
“How was the concert?” Tyler asked you.
“It was good!” you smiled at him. You watched Tyler sit on the couch and take one of the pillows and place it on his lap. You knew he was hard, and he was doing a terrible job at hiding it. You decided to tease him some more, I mean it’s only fair since he was the one that wasn’t admitting his feelings for you, right?
“That’s good,” Tyler shuffled uncomfortably as you sat down next to him. You placed your feet on top of the pillow and it made Tyler groan a little.
“What’s wrong?” you asked him, trying to pretend to be serious.
“Oh, um, nothing,” he ran his hand through his hair as he looked off into the distance.
“Whatever you say,” you said in a sing-song voice. “I want this pillow.” You lifted your feet up and grabbed the pillow to place behind your head. You rested your feet on Tyler’s lap.
“I liked that pillow,” Tyler mumbled as he sat up. You watched him look down to his lap and then up to you. You raised your eyebrow and he quickly looked away.
“Is there a banana in your pants, or are just excited to see me?” you teased as you rubbed his bulge with your foot. Tyler audibly gasped and looked over at you.
“Both?” he squeaked before moaning again as you rubbed harder.
“Tyler, why don't you just admit you have feelings for me.”
“I don’t know,” he mumbled. You swung your feet off of his lap and faced towards him.
“Tyler, it’s no secret that I like you, and everyone knows that you like me as well, why can’t we just stop this pretending and date?” you asked, getting straight to the point.
“I’m just scared.”
“Of what?”
“You are one of the nicest and most attractive women I have ever met, and I am worried that if we started to date that I would screw up and I would lose you. I can’t lose you, Y/N,” he whispered.
“Tyler,” you grabbed his cheek with your hand making his brown eyes look up at yours. You leaned in and planted a kiss on his soft lips, and he kissed back. He tasted of sweat and Gatorade, and when he pulled away you could tell he was smiling.
“You don’t know how long I have been wanting to do that,” he spoke softly as he rested his forehead against yours.
“See, Ty? We are meant to be together, so just let's give it a go.”
“Okay.” Tyler leaned in for another kiss. The door burst open causing both you and Tyler to jump away from each other and gawk up at Josh who was looking at both of you.

Your POV
“Hey, babe,” Tyler said, bending over the back of the couch so that he could press a kiss to your temple. “Are you going to be ready to leave in about ten minutes?”
“For what?” you asked, shifting slightly so that you could look up at him.
“We’re getting drinks with Josh, remember?”
“Right,” you mumbled. You had forgotten about the plans that the three of you had made. “I think I’m going to skip tonight, I feel kinda sick.”
“Are you sure? I know Josh was looking forward to seeing you.”
You refrained from rolling your eyes. Although Tyler loved you, he did have the tendency to make you feel bad about skipping out on plans every now and again. He only did it when he knew you were making excuses, but that didn’t make it hurt any less.
“Don’t guilt me, Ty. You two just go out and have fun,” you huffed before turning back and pulling the blanket up around your neck.
“Alright,” he rubbed your arm a bit and then walked off.
You hated to do this to Tyler. He was obviously worried about you, but every time that you tried to tell him how you were feeling you just couldn’t get the words out. All you wanted to do was lay in bed and hide away from the world, but he insisted that you at least lay on the couch so that he could be near you while he worked. It always got him off your case for a little while.
If only you could snap your fingers and make all of the doubt and hurt go away.
Tyler’s POV
“I don’t know what to do, Josh. Y/N hasn’t been herself lately. She spends most days on the couch, alternating between watching TV and taking naps. Her typical bubbly personality hasn’t shown itself for days, instead she just gives short answers and partial smiles. Every time I ask her if everything is ok, she brushes it off and says she’s fine.”
“Have you tried just spending some time with her? She might open up more then,” he shrugged.
“I mean, I’ve managed to get her out of bed and to the couch so that she’s at least near me when I’m working.”
“No, Ty. Like have you really spent time with her? Just the two of you sitting on the couch and cuddling, enjoying each other’s company?”
“I’ve tried, but she just ignores me and watches TV.”
“Taking the time out of your day to sit with her, even if you aren’t cuddling or anything, may mean more to her than you realize.”
I sighed and rubbed the back of my neck, “You’re right. I’ve been going about this whole thing the wrong way.”
“How long has she been like this?”
“A few days, maybe. She made a comment about feeling overwhelmed the other day and she just hasn’t really been the same since.”
“Ok, I have an idea,” Josh said, folding his hands on the table. “You and I are both worried about her, so why don’t we get out of here, pick up some fast food on the way home, and make sure Y/N knows how loved she is?”
I nodded along as Josh explained his idea, “I think that would be good. Man, I shouldn’t have left in the first place.”
Your POV
You had been staring at the ceiling so long that you were starting to see patterns. Negative thoughts were slowly making their way through your mind and you were powerless to stop them. It seemed like you had tried everything to distract yourself, but every time you ended up where you were right now.
Sometimes you wondered if Tyler even loved you anymore. Maybe that’s why you had been subconsciously pushing him away. When he did inevitably end things, there would be less of a sting.
The door suddenly burst open, revealing Tyler and Josh with a multitude of brown paper bags in their arms. You shifted slightly so that you could better see what was going on. Tyler hadn’t texted saying that he was bringing Josh over.
“Hey, Y/N,” Josh smiled as he walked into the living room and took a seat.
“We brought some food,” Tyler explained, setting the bags on the coffee table.
The two of them began to pull out all the food and set it out on the table. You were pretty sure there was more food than the three of you could humanly eat.
“What about drinks?” you asked. “You two were barely gone for half an hour.”
“We decided to bail and spend time with you instead,” Tyler smiled, lightly patting your calf.
“Really?” your eyebrows furrowed.
“Yeah, hanging out just isn’t the same without you,” Josh chimed in.
A smile tugged at the corner of your lips, but it was quickly wiped away as insecurities took over again. You reached out and grabbed some food and the drink that Tyler had ordered for you.
“Is there a reason you guys bought this much food?” you asked, hoping to keep the conversation off your mental state.
“I wanted to make sure that we had plenty of options and I ended up going a bit overboard,” Tyler explained.
“And I had no idea how much food Ty was buying, so I ended up going overboard too,” Josh chimed in with a laugh.
“I can’t complain,” you smiled.
You mostly sat quietly while Josh and Tyler talked about random things. It ended up being a pretty good distraction from your thoughts, which you were thankful for. They eventually ended up sat on either side of you and deemed it a “band sandwich”.
“So, how have you been lately, Y/N?”
You should have seen it coming. There was no way Tyler and Josh would have gone out to lunch together without you being mentioned. All it meant was that they cared about you, but you wished that you could just hide away from the world until you started to feel better.
“I’m fine,” you shrugged. “Just felt a little off lately.”
You could feel both of them looking at you as if their stares were burning into the sides of your head, yet you refused to look at either of them. They saw straight through your lie and with both of them here you knew there was no way you could get out of talking.
“Fine,” you sighed. “I’ve been struggling. I know that I’ve pushed the two of you away and I’m not taking care of myself. It just seems like all I’ve been able to do lately is sit around and get stuck in my head. I want to break the cycle, but it just feels impossible.”
“You know that we want to help you, right?” Tyler asked, taking hold of your hand.
“Yeah. It’s just, um, this is going to sound really dumb when I say it out loud.”
Josh took hold of your other hand, “Y/N, you know that all three of us have said plenty of dumb things before.”
“Um, ok. I guess sometimes I just feel like you guys don’t actually like me all that much. I want to ask you guys for help, but then I feel like I’m being a bother.”
“You’re never a bother to us,” Josh answered.
Tyler squeezed your hand, “You know that we both care about you and want you to be happy. Asking for help is never going to bother us.”
“I know. I just need reminders every now and again.”
“What’s the best thing for us to do so that we can help you?” Josh asked.
You shrugged, “Spending time with me is always a good one, even if we aren’t saying anything. Company is always nice because then someone is right there if I need them.”
Josh shot Tyler a look, although you weren’t entirely sure why.
“Also just reminding me that you think I’m cool or whatever. It’s dumb, but it helps,” you laughed.
“Well, what do you say we watch a movie or something and just hang out for awhile?” Tyler suggested.
“That would be good,” you smiled.
The three of you ended up watching two movies as you slowly worked your way through all the food that the boys had brought home. There wasn’t a single negative thought that ran through your mind while they were with you, which proved to be a nice break from everything that you had been worried about that morning.
Josh eventually left, taking some of the leftover food with him. You were tired and it was getting late, so you and Tyler decided to head up to bed. It didn’t take you long to get ready since you were already in pajamas.
“How are you feeling?” Tyler called from the bathroom as he finished up washing his face.
“Better,” you answered. “I’m really glad that you and Josh decided to come hang out with me. It helped a lot.”
“I’m glad,” he said, shutting off the bathroom light and joining you in bed. “Listen, I’m really sorry about the way that I’ve been handling this the last few days. I shouldn’t have even left you here alone in the first place and I definitely shouldn’t have guilted you about not going.”
“It’s alright.” You reached out so that you could run a finger along his stubbly face. “I know that you’re only trying to look out for me. You just don’t always have the best way of going about it.”
He smiled, “I just care about so much that knowing you’re in pain ends up hurting me as well. I wish I could take it all away from you and deal with it myself.”
“I would never wish that upon you.”
“You mean so much to me, Y/N.”
“You mean so much to me too, Ty.”
“I’m really going to try and do better about looking out for you. If I’m ever doing something that makes you feel worse or you need me to do something to help, please just let me know. I’ll change what I’m doing immediately.”
“Thank you, that means a lot.”
“Anything for you.”
Tyler leaned forward and kissed you.
“I love you, Ty.”
“I love you too.”
“Now let’s get some sleep.”
The two of you shifted so that you were cuddled up in a more comfortable sleeping position. You closed your eyes and smiled. This was the happiest that you had felt in awhile.
“Joshy, let’s go! Hurry up,” you groaned into your boyfriend's shoulder who was busy styling his fluffy blue hair. You both were going to the beach today, and you were excited because it had been a while since you had gone.
“Y/N, baby, you’re only going to make me take a longer time,” he chuckled as he walked into the bedroom to put on his swimming trunks.
“I have been dressed and ready to go for the past hour!”
“Sorry!” Josh laughed but finally, he was ready to go. You walked downstairs and grabbed the bag you had packed for the beach. It was filled with sunscreen, towels, a portable speaker, water and fruit, sunglasses and your favorite book.
“Ready?” you asked and Josh nodded. He leaned down and placed a kiss on your cheek before grabbing his keys and hopping into the car.
“What do you want to listen to?” Josh asked as he started to plug the aux cord into his phone but you quickly snatched the cord from him.
“You always gets to play music!” you told him. “I want to play music.”
“Fine, but don’t play any of your Broadway music,” he mumbled. You smiled to yourself as you clicked on your Disney playlist. I Can’t Wait To Be King from the Lion King started playing and Josh glared over at you.
“Sorry! I was just kidding,” you giggled as you switched the song to one by the Arctic Monkeys. “Better?”
“Yes,” Josh laughed. He drummed to the music on the way to the beach and you looked out the window watching the various people walking. The people were always so strange in LA. You eventually got bored and you decided to joke with Josh again, so you queued up Circle of Life to play next.
“The next song is for you,” you said softly and Josh just nodded looking ahead at the road. He probably was expecting you to play one of your guys love songs, but boy, was he in for a surprise. The song started with the very loud and recognizable intro and Josh looked over at you with a death glare.
“I swear, Y/N. Don’t make me turn this car around!”
“Don’t make me turn this car around? Jeez, who got your panties in a twist,” you giggled as you changed the music back to Arctic Monkeys.
“Hey, I wear briefs, not panties,” Josh said as if you offended him in the worst way.
“Actually, that one night-”
“We don’t speak of that night, remember? I was drunk,” Josh interrupted you and you tried to suppress your laugh knowing it was a sore subject. Josh pulled into a parking spot by the beach, and you both grabbed your stuff and headed down onto the sand. It was a nice day, not too windy, and about 85 degrees.
You took your shirt off and handed Josh the bottle of sunscreen. He looked down at your bright pink bathing suit shorts and smiled. “What, do you not like my bathing suit?”
“No, pink is a great color on you,” he kissed your shoulder before rubbing in the sunscreen.
“Don’t miss any spots, I don’t want to burn again,” you reminded him. Once he finished Josh took his shirt off and you slathered the sunscreen on his body. His tattoos looked extra vibrant in the sun and you couldn’t help but stare.
“Why are you staring at me?” Josh asked.
You shrugged, “I’m just so lucky to have one of the most attractive guys in the world as my boyfriend.”
“Well I’m also lucky to have you as my boyfriend too,” Josh whispered before pulling you into a long kiss.
“Last one in the ocean is a rotten tomato!” you yelled as you pulled away from the kiss and sprinted towards the wave.

Crash.
Your eyes shot open as you heard an unfamiliar noise coming from downstairs. You looked over at your clock that lit the room up and it was 4:27 am. Your heart started racing as you thought about all the possible explanations of the noise, which included someone breaking in and attempting to murder you and Tyler.
You looked over at your husband who was sleeping soundly. The sound must have not stirred him because his snoring continued on. You contemplated if you should wake him up but you decided to go check out the sound by yourself. You're strong and independent.
You swung your feet over the side of your bed and shuffled your feet into your bunny slippers that Tyler had gotten you last Christmas. You grabbed the bat that you guys kept next to your bed and slowly opened the door with a creak. You looked back to see if Tyler stirred at all, but he stayed sound asleep.
You tiptoed down the stairs, being careful not to make too much noise in case someone did end up breaking in. You peered around the corner into your living room but you did not see anything out of the ordinary. You clicked the light switch, and it took a few seconds for your eyes to adjust. Nothing.
You made your way into the kitchen and there still was nothing, but then something caught your eye on the floor. You looked down to see a small black mouse running across the floor. You shrieked a little before jumping down and grabbing the small mouse. You quickly ran to your front door, opened it, and let the little guy go. Even though you weren’t the biggest fan of rodents, you would never hurt a mouse. Metaphorically and literally.
Upstairs Tyler was slowly waking up to the sound of the front door opening and closing. He turned over to wrap his arm around his wife but his arm hit the air. He sat up in confusion as to why you weren’t in bed with him.
You heard him get out of bed and you decided this would be a perfect opportunity to scare him. You grabbed the bat and walked by the closet door, standing in a stance as if there was someone in the closet. You heard him walk down the stairs and you prepared yourself for the greatest prank.
“Ahh!” you screamed as Tyler turned the corner, making him jump back in fear.
“Y/N! What in gods name are you doing?”
“I heard something!”
“Like what?” Tyler asked. He noticed that you were aiming the baseball bat at the closet so he started to reach for the doorknob.
“Don’t open the door!” you yelled at him.
“What why!?” Tyler had panic and fear in his voice and you almost couldn’t hold in the fit of giggles you had.
“Ty, I’m just messing with you,” you admitted. You lowered the baseball bat and wrapped your arms around his neck.
“You’re silly, Y/N,” he whispered as he kissed you.
“I know, but that’s why you love me.”
“Yes, indeed. Can we go back to bed now?”
“Yes,” you laughed. You grabbed his hand and led him back up to bed so you could finish getting a good nights rest.
“Hey, baby boy! You did amazing tonight” you greeted Tyler with a kiss as he hopped off the stage. Sweat ran down his body but he still pulled you into a hug. You didn’t mind, he smelled strongly of the pine deodorant he was wearing.
“That was probably one of the better shows I have done!” Tyler said leaning over his knees as he tried to regain control of his breathing. A security guard came over and handed him a bottle of water. You mouthed a thank you as he walked away and Tyler started chugging the bottle.
“That crowd was insane!” Josh spoke as he walked up behind. He was wiping his face and body with a towel.
“You guys did so well though,” you told him.
“Yeah, I felt pretty good,” Josh agreed.
“I need a shower and a nap, I’ll see you for dinner later Josh, yeah?” Tyler asked. Josh gave him a thumbs up as he started walking towards his dressing room. You grabbed Tyler’s hand and followed him to his dressing room which was a hallway over from Josh’s.
“I’m so glad you came on tour with us,” Tyler whispered into your ear once you walked into the room.
“Me too, Ty.” You leaned in and pressed a kiss to his temple. You went over and took a seat on the couch while Tyler hopped into the small shower that was in the bathroom which was attached to his dressing room. It was a quick shower, and before you could even respond to all your snapchats he was already out and getting dried.
“Ty, you’re bleeding!” you said as you noticed that he has blood pooling on his bottom lip. Tyler reached up and touched his finger to his lip. When he pulled it away he looked down at the pool of red on his thumb.
“I cut my lip,” he whispered as he wiped the rest of blood away with his tongue.
“Wait, you’re telling me you…” you paused for dramatic effect. “Cut your lip?”
“Yes, I just said that- oh, wait. You’re being ironic, aren’t you?” Tyler chuckled as he realized the joke you were making.
“How did it bleed? Did you hit it on something?” you asked.
“No.”
“Okay, just wanted to make sure you didn’t hit your head because I didn’t want you getting a...migraine,” you glared over at Tyler who was rolling his eyes.
“Haha, good one.”
“I just get stressed out when you’re hurt.”
“Stop,” Tyler groaned as he threw on a pair of shorts and a sweatshirt.
“Don’t judge me! You’re not the judge,” you continued teasing him.
“Y/N, I love you, but if you keep this up you’re not going to be my boyfriend anymore,” Tyler warned you but you ignored him.
“I’ll always be your boyfriend, want to know why? Because I’ll always be holding on to you!”
“Oh my god, Y/N.”
“Sorry, I’ll stop,” you chuckled. “Puns just run in...my blood.”
“Y/N!”
“Sorry!” You followed Tyler out of the fitting room and down to Josh’s. He knocked on the door and a wet-haired Josh opened it up.
“Time for dinner?” Josh asked and both you and Tyler nodded.
“They ordered us Taco Bell,” Tyler spoke.
“Hopefully they have chalupas,” you whispered. “Or beef and cheese.”
“Y/N!” Tyler turned around and stared you in the face while Josh tried to hold in a giggle.
“Nice one, Y/N,” Josh raised his hand for a high five.
“Don’t egg him on, he has been doing this all night,” Tyler mumbled putting his hood up and walking down to where they usually ate dinner with Mark.
“He’s just sensitive,” Josh whispered to you while you both followed Tyler down the hall. Tyler sulked all the way there and even looked upset while he ate his food. You wondered if you went too far and should apologize, but you decided to just test it one last time.
“How’s your food?” you asked Tyler. He shrugged silently as he took another bite.
“Taco Bell is good but it's not that good! I guess I just don’t understand the...hype,” you snickered and Tyler slammed his hands down on the table making everyone look up at him.
“Y/N, I swear if you don’t stop you’re going to be a..,” Tyler looked side to side with his eyes before leaning down close to you.“Goner,” he whispered.

You grumbled and cleared the notification before throwing it back onto the night table. He had probably done something dumb and now his girlfriend was mad at him. It was a common occurrence, and you weren’t about to sacrifice sleep over it. Tyler was an adult, so he could handle his issues like one.
Tyler had texted you three additional times by the time that you woke up the next morning. You were still half-asleep when you read them, their full meaning not quite sinking in yet.
I need to talk to you as soon as possible.
I know I’ve been a huge idiot but this is important.
Call me when you wake up. Please.
You sighed and tossed your phone down beside you. That would have to wait until later, first you were going to get ready for the day.
Your phone sat in front of you, taunting you as you ate your breakfast. You didn’t want to bend to Tyler’s will that easily, but you figured that it must be important if he was messaging you about it. He knew better than to pull a false alarm on you at this point.
You sighed and grabbed your phone with your free hand, not giving yourself a moment to second guess what you were doing. At the end of the day, Tyler was still your best friend and you weren’t going to lose him entirely just because you were mad he was dating someone else instead of you.
He answered after only a couple rings.
“You called,” he sounded relieved.
“You said it was important.”
“It is. Are you free today? I want to talk about this in person.”
“Rocket has an appointment at two, but the two of us can come over afterwards.”
“That’s perfect.”
“Is everything ok?”
“It will be.”
“Alright, I’ll see you later then.”
“Bye.”
You hung up the call, curious as to what was so important that he needed to see you in person.
You opened the car door and Rocket happily jumped out, immediately making a beeline for Tyler’s front door. The joke between the two of you was that Rocket was practically Tyler’s son just as much as he was yours.
“Hey, come here,” you called after him as he began to sniff at some flowers on the far side of Tyler’s yard.
Rocket came up and ran circles around your feet, only adding to your already anxious demeanor. You rolled your shoulders a couple times and reached up to knock on Tyler’s door, your heart already pounding a lot harder than you would like it to be.
You heard Tyler walking around inside and your heart skipped a beat. It had been a couple weeks since the last time you two saw one another. You had gone to lunch together and hardly talked. Neither of you had discussed how you blew up on him and he knew better than to talk about his new relationship. There really wasn’t much else for you two to discuss at that point.
The door knob started to jiggle, causing Rocket to jump around happily. You brushed some hair back from your forehead and stuck your hands deep into your sweatshirt pockets.
“Hey,” Tyler smiled, although it didn’t quite reach his eyes.
“Hi.”
“Do you want to come inside?”
“Rocket definitely does,” you said, looking down at the golden retriever running around your feet.
“Yeah, he does,” Tyler smiled.
He opened the door wider and you followed Rocket inside. Tyler started to walk towards the kitchen so you fell into step with him. You stopped dead in your tracks as you rounded the corner, fear instantly turning into anger.
A vase full of red carnations, your favorite flower, was sitting on the edge of the counter next to two mugs of steaming hot chocolate. There were a couple bowls full of candy and snacks nearby, right next to a stack of movies.
“What is this?” you groaned. “Did you just need my help surprising your girlfriend?”
Tyler’s eyebrows immediately furrowed, “What makes you think that?”
“You pissed her off, didn’t you? That’s the mistake you made and now you want my help in making her forgive you. I already told you, I’m not letting you pull me into this again. Deal with your own problems.”
You turned and started to walk towards the door, but Tyler caught your arm and stopped you. He gently turned you back to face him.
“That’s not what’s going on at all, Y/N.”
“Then tell me what it is,” you said, already fighting tears. “Because I can’t take this anymore. I tried to be happy for you, Ty, I really did. But I can’t watch you be in love with someone else.”
“This is for you, Y/N.”
You felt your breath catch, “What do you mean?”
He led you back over to the kitchen. Upon closer inspection, you realized that all of it was your favorites: the flowers, the snacks, the movies. It was all the things that Tyler knew you loved.
“Getting back with my ex was a mistake,” he explained. “It was you that I was in love with the whole time, but I was so afraid of ruining what we had that I let myself run back to what I was comfortable with. I thought that it was the right choice, but then I saw how much I hurt you in the process.”
You wiped a fallen tear away, “For real? This isn’t some joke to make me like you again?”
“Not a joke,” he grinned.
“So what does this mean?”
“It means that I love you, Y/N. I don’t want to lose you,” he reached down and took hold of your hand. “And I knew that telling you alone wouldn’t be enough, so I gathered up all of your favorite things to show you that I really care.”
“I love you too, Tyler.”
“You do?”
“Yeah,” you smiled. “I thought it was obvious.”
He shook his head, “I’m pretty oblivious when it comes to feelings.”
You sniffled, “I noticed.”
He reached forward and wiped another of your tears away with your thumb. You expected him to move his hand away, but instead he left it there. Slowly, he began to pull you towards him.
“Wait,” you stopped him.
“What?” he whispered.
“You aren’t still dating your ex, are you?”
“No. That’s over.”
“Ok, just making sure.”
He smiled and continued to pull you towards him. Your lips met in the middle and you brought a hand to his chest, grabbing the fabric of his shirt and pulling him closer to you.
He finally pulled away and bit down on his bottom lip, “You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to do that.”
“You’ve been waiting a long time?” you laughed.
“Ok, maybe not as long as you.”
“You should have kissed me when you held my hand,” you smirked.
“You were awake for that?” he asked, cheeks immediately going bright red.
“The entire time.”
He pulled his hands away from yours and buried his face into them. You grinned and pulled them away.
“It was cute,” you smiled.
“It was dorky.”
“Whatever,” you rolled your eyes. “I appreciated it.”
He smiled and cast his eyes down to his feet, but you tilted his head back up towards you so that you could give him another quick kiss.
“What do you say we watch a movie and eat all these snacks?” you asked.
“I think that sounds like a good plan.”
“And you can hold my hand for real this time,” you laughed.
“I’m never going to live that one down, am I?”
“Never.”
He bent down and pressed a kiss to your cheek, causing you to giggle. The two of you gathered up all of the snacks and carried them into the living room, followed by a very happy looking dog. Rocket was quick to jump on the couch and join all the cuddling and snacking that was going on.
“Are you comfortable?” Tyler asked as he wrapped an arm around you.
You nodded and grabbed a handful of popcorn. He grabbed the remote and hit play on the first movie that the two of you had decided to watch together.
You stood up from the couch for a moment so that you could make yourself some more hot chocolate. To your surprise, Tyler got up and followed you, wrapping his arms around you from behind as you filled the mug with more milk and carried it over to the microwave.
“What are you doing?” you giggled as you started it.
“I just wanted to be near you,” he answered, pressing a kiss to your cheek.
“We’ve been cuddled up on the couch together for almost two hours.”
“I know, but I just feel like there’s so much lost time to make up for,” he said, resting his head on your shoulder. “I swear I’m not this cuddly all the time.”
You reached up and scratched his head, “It’s alright, love. I understand.”
Tyler hummed in contentment, “I like when you call me love.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. I can’t believe the prettiest person in the world loves me.”
You grabbed your milk from the microwave and walked back towards the counter, which was a bit awkward with Tyler wrapped around you. It was weird to finally see this side of him after being his friend for so long.
“You’re going to have to let go of me eventually,” you laughed as you stirred your hot chocolate.
“Never,” he mumbled into your shoulder.
You eventually made him unwrap his arms as you walked back over to the couch, only to immediately snuggle up to him once you sat back down. He wrapped his arms around you, holding you close to him.
“Can you promise me something, Y/N?”
“Maybe.”
“Never let me lose you, alright?”
“I don’t think you’ll have to worry about that.”
He smiled and pressed a quick kiss to your lips.
“I love you.”
“I love you too,” you said, running your fingers lightly along his arm. “And I’m always going to be there for you.”
