Organizing Hommage an die Komputing-Revolution
TOP-IX (Torino Piemonte Internet Exchange) is bringing a new exhibition of K-Way Gallery from Turin to Berlin. By exhibiting legendary personal computers and the related documentation, the exhibition tells the story of the Computing Revolution which took place during the seventies and eighties. The constant miniaturization of components combined with the imagination and the passion of some young people was driving this movement. It turned out not only into a technological revolution but also a cultural one, totally modifying the way people work, communicate and live. As a highlight of the collection you can see a unique, original Apple-1 computer from 1976, the “Holy Grail” of modern informatics.
Parallel to the exhibition Torino Piemonte Internet Exchange is hosting two informal networking events in the evening. TOP-IX, a not-for-profit consortium, will share information and updates about its activities concerning the support of young ICT projects and initiatives around Open Data and its applications. The TOP-IX Development Program provides start-ups with computing and networking infrastructure, connections with investors and with other start-ups.
