Time for more #top10of2017. The next book on the list 📚 is Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca. Having been involved in online fandoms, this book really spoke to me. This is one of those books that you just can’t put down and when you’re done, you want to immediately start reading again. I wasn’t ready to leave the comfort of the world that had been created. It’s an amazing world where storms are sentient and a race of people called Stormlings have special powers to control the storms and protect the people in their kingdom. Aurora Pavan is a Stormling princess who shows no sign of the powers needed to control the storms. Aurora runs away from an advantageous wedding and joins a group of storm - chasers. Another #topread for me this year was Words in Deep Blue by @cathcrowleybooks. The characters’ connections to words and books really stuck a chord in me. It’s that time of year. The time to look back and focus on all of the great things that happened this past year. While in many ways 2017 was a very trying year (two surgery’s), it was also great (oldest child finally got his driver’s license and won some acting awards). . But here, here we talk books, so I’m going to start posting my #top10of2017. These are not really in any particular order because I cannot figure out how to rank them. It was hard enough paring the list down to only ten. . I’m pretty sure most of you have at least heard of Without Merit by @colleenhoover whether you’ve read it or not. It made Goodreads list of top books for the year. I saw a lot of myself in Merit. Maybe not her actions, but definitely a lot of what she was feeling. It is quirky and maybe unusual, but it also is a story of love, family, and redemption.
