11. In what situation was your character the most afraid they’ve ever been?
The moment his child was kidnapped. Not knowing what had happened to her, the amount of scenarios he created inside his mind about what was potentially happening to Maya, if she was dead, if they were torturing her, if they were harming her in any way. The pain, the fear, everything that was possibly going through her mind. He had never felt so powerless and so guilty in his entire life.
12. In what situation was your character the most calm they’ve ever been?
He’s most calm after surfing, because it’s a moment he finds himself focusing on the present and being able to enjoy his own presence, even if it’s the kind of hobby he can share with others, James prefers to do it on his own.
13. Is your character bothered by the sight of blood? If so, in what way?
14. Does your character remember names or faces easier?
He remember faces easier. James meets a lot of people, so finding a way to remember everyone’s name is quite hard, but he never forgets a face. Sometimes he tries to pretend he remembers someone’s name because he thinks it’s less embarrassing than actually asking them about it again.
15. Is your character preoccupied with money or material possession? Why or why not?
16. Which does your character idealize most: happiness or success?
This one is tricky, because he idealize success more than happiness mostly because he doesn’t think he deserves to be happy, but James craves it a lot. He just wants to be happy, and enjoy the presence of those he love while growing old, travelling the world and meeting different countries, hoping that one day in every country they’ll be able to appreciate supernatural beings instead of fearing them.
17. What was your character’s favorite toy as a child?
Definitely Water Ring Toss.
18. Is your character more likely to admire wisdom, or ambition in others?
19. What is your character’s biggest relationship flaw? Has this flaw destroyed relationships for them before?
He’ll find an easy exit before he could get even more hurt. Though his first girlfriend they found comfort in attempting a long-distance relationship, it was that that caused them to subtly drift apart, until life made it all worse and she went through a car accident. Then, we have Kara, who became his wife mostly because they were having a kid together and assumed they were in love but, they reached a mutual agreement that they were just friends and it was for the best, which in my point of view none of them didn’t try at all in that relationship (but they weren’t wrong, they work better as friends). And then, we have the relationship that this kind of flaw actually got in the way: Zoey. He still loved her when they decided to break up, again, a mutual agreement. In his point of view, it was easier to hurt himself at that moment instead of loving her more and more and then years later watching both of them drifting apart and the end of their relationship being something that would shatter him. It was easy to let her go and hope that he’d forget about her and the way she made him smile, and how much his heart was still beating fast for her. But we all know that it didn’t work, and it only caused him more harm than good.
20. In what ways does your character compare themselves to others? Do they do this for the sake of self-validation, or self-criticism?
