Do you know of any possible starting points for talking to a therapist about dissociation/dissociative disorders?
[PT: Welcome! Please, take a seat.]
In the past, we've brought up topics of dissociation up by name—dissociation is absolutely something a person can identify in themself by name. Alternatively, we've approached similar topics by describing what we experience without using certain terms. For example, "I feel like I'm not a part of the real world most days" or "I often realize that I don't have much/any recollection of the day when I look back."
