                        THE COLD SHOULDER AFTER ONLY FULFILLING HER SUBCONSCIOUS WISHES      was a bit drastic and hypocritical in his opinion. pinky to pinky more times than he could count, the   treatment   that befell on her at the hands of her brother always seemed to be the topic of choice. it was made abundantly clear that despite the   loyalty   bestowed on kai, winter was in pain. plans were already set in motion to overthrow the power hungry ruler whose political agenda was more important than his message, but upon hearing the way winter was subjected to manipulation for his own personal gain, the decision was clear–—–kill the bastard.

                        kai anderson was no longer a threat to the system. overthrowing proved to be an easier task than initially anticipated when he had factual information that the propaganda their so–called   ‘  divine ruler  ’   spread was complete and utter bullshit. that only made getting the important people to slip into their masked alter egos to deal with the problem that much easier. it was bloody, brutal and quite barbaric, but now kai anderson was   no longer   a threat for the common good. alas, winter still remained silent, remained angry with jay. she’d come around, he was sure of it.

                        “   you do realize that i   don’t buy   your attempts to face me with hatred for what i did to your brother, don’t you?   ”      icy windows to the soul remained fixated straight ahead of him, even while she approached from the side.      “   you and i are both well aware of what you wanted, what   we both   wanted, even if you’re too afraid to admit it. you wanted him dead just as much as i did. and i may be an asshole, i may be heartless and hell, i may even been nearly worse than kai, but at least i’ve   never once   hurt you.   ”
