I don't want to be a black smith. But I thought I should be able to make a set of tongs from a cutout blank that I bought from Ken's Custom Iron @kenscustomiron He make it look so easy with his proper tools, and forge and stuff. :) I broke a vise, determined that neither propane torch nor mapp gas was sufficient to obtain correct heat. Finally resorted to Oxy-Acetylene torch and got this far. They will function but aren't nearly as finished as I would prefer to see. I have a second set of blanks that I will try again some time in the future perhaps using a small single brick forge. My thanks to Ken's Custom Iron for a nice product. But suffice it to say, I paid full price for these myself. I received no special consideration for mentioning Ken and his product.
