I know I haven’t been very involved with the tumblr writing community until recent but I think some of you all need to chill. Like, go outside, touch some grass, interact with the real world because some of you spend way too much time online and it shows. It’s completely reasonable and understandable to not want minors interacting with your blog if you decide that. It’s completely fine being uncomfortable seeing underage people talk about nsfw topics. But the problem is y’all don’t have any concept of the line where theres too much and too little. Telling random people under 18 to “go die” because they interacted with a post that was publicly uploaded is the most childish thing I’ve heard of tbfh.

And like, I get that it’s for the safety of adults too because people like to cancel anybody and everybody who doesn’t actually need it so please do respect peoples DNIs. But I doubt people remember 100% of the time to check every single blog that comes onto their dash especially if its sfw. Idk like going around acting like the keeper of the peace on anon doesn’t do anything for anybody and even if you have good intentions you’re doing to come off as a condescending ass. Nobody goes around in person in informal settings of a mixed age range to specifically police minors when no one asked. (On the flip side underage people don’t walk into adult spaces without getting booted out either). Y’all forget that there’s actual people behind your screen, y’all forget that trying to make minors be completely sfw people will never completely work and never has, and some of y’all need to stop acting like you’re some type e-savour for going on anon and starting shit. 😐

If you see content you really like from a person who doesn’t speak English, translate your compliments. It can be kind of discouraging to see a bunch of feedback in a language you don’t understand, and from experience people will really appreciate that you took out time to do that.

esp in anime/kpop circles theres alot of eng speakers leaving compliments to people and they might not get it. Although some people actively interact with eng comments, but we aren’t talking about that.

Just tell them you’re using a translator, then type what you want to say. Please think about doing this because it makes people really happy.
