Could’ve considered it lucky, after all, he was looking for a job, and opportunity has definitely fallen into his lap. Not quite what he has imagined, and definitely a strange decision for him to make.
Riding along the countryside he was passing farms, nearing a village not far away from Novigrad, hoping to find a few more monsters to kill hopefully with people to pay for their trophies, when a group of people ran in front of his horse, making it quite an easy, but with drawing the sign of axii in the air Lambert got off his mount. Though the horse was now calm, the witcher seemed quite the opposite.
With raised voice he demanded to know why the hell they decided to be stupid, but they were just shouting over each other trying to get him to follow them, so with the roll of his eye he complied, expecting some random monster that was probably even trivial, common folk got stared by the simplest of things with their superstitions.
He was led to a run down building where he could here enough that whatever he have found, they have locked it in the basement of the building and barricaded it. Lambert agreed to take a look, asking the others to possibly observe from a safer distance. He has slowly removed the boards that has been locking the door and opened one side of the door carefully.
It was completely dark inside, but not for the witcher. His silver sword was ready in his hand as he made his way down as quietly as possible. He has seen movement in one of the corners and heard the noises of an armour moving. In that moment he has pulled up the barrier of quen around himself and by the yellow light of the force field, it was fully revealed to him what he was actually hunting.
A rider of the wild hunt.
“ Less boring then a hag... “
He said to himself as he swung into action to attack the tall form.
