Ok guys, as we have another possible tornado producing storm heading to the Midwest, I want to give a tip for if you have to travel to a tornado shelter (i.e. leave your dorm room, etc) make sure you have a bag packed. Here's some things you should keep in it:
-any medications
-small first aid kit (I have a pencil pouch with some bandaids and stuff)
-a flashlight, maybe 2
-CHARGED battery packs and a cord for your phone
-if you have a portable radio, great add that
-a blanket (great to help shield you from debris)
-food like granola bars
-a few water bottles
-important documents if you have any (like if you have your birth certificate or social security card, hard to replace paperwork.)
Make sure you put this bag together BEFORE a warning comes through!!!
Make sure you wear sneakers if you have to evacuate!
Also for long term planning please invest in a solar panel phone charger, mine also doubles as a flashlight, a big water storage container (like one of those gallon sized bottles), a travel blanket, etc
Stay safe!
