I finally did a #30daysofhairstyles hair style. The nautilus bun. Because I wear buns high on my head for sleepy times, out of habit I put it up high on my head. Used a flexy 8 to secure. It was the most comfy bun I've worn so far. I hate being sick when awesome challenges hapoen. But I'm glad I'm better now to try one. #olddictionarygram #torrinpaige

Day 5 Hair

Yes, day 5. No dry shampoo, and even wearing my hair down. I’m running with scissors here.

Today is an attempt of Sansa’s joust hair from season 1. Torrinpaige is doing VEDA this month, and her scheduled hairstyle for today is this one. Seemed reasonable enough. I just followed her tutorial. (https://youtu.be/5HqKzDGL9NM)

Ran into a couple of hiccups. I don’t have the length or volume that she does, so my buns are a bit sad, and having face framing pieces the length of my face nerfed the braid that should dip between them. I fixed it with a hairbow, mixing my AGOT nerd with my Otaku nerd.

Day 5 is surprisingly tolerable. I’m going 6-7 days between washings, and day 6 is spent oiled and put up for the most part, often braided so I don’t have to detangle it twice.

And yes, I see that part that wasn’t colored very well, too. It was supposed to remain green/teal from the previous color, but it seems not worth it now. I will attempt to fix it with more blue/purple before washing next time.

Torrin addresses a question long-hairs receive a lot: "Are going to donate?".  Sometimes it's just a statement: "You should donate".  And people get offended when the person replies that they want to keep their ass-length hair.

She also talks about what you should do if you wish to cut it all off, i.e. do not donate to Locks of Love.  I wish I'd known more about them before I donated my hair in high school, or even last June.
