Has there been any incredible worship music released in the last 6 months?
Because I'm in the mood for suggestions and new music. I've only bought two worship songs since April.
What do you think about Bryan & Katie Torwalts' Kingdom Come?
What about Bethel's Tides?
Hillsong's Glorious Ruins?
Is it just me or is worship music kinda in a funk at the moment? New albums sound the same as their previous ones… or just boring. The messages from our songs don't sound like they're coming from a place of desperation and deep need of Jesus. And that's kinda where I'm at. The words of songs past that resonate so deeply with me sound like:
"And my heart burns for you" (Crowder 2002)
"All I need is you" (United 2005)
"There's a cry in my heart/ for your glory to fall" (Starfield 2004)
"Be my everything" (Hughes 2005)
"When the tears fall/ still I will sing to you" (Hughes 2004)
"I love you/ all of my hope is in you/ Jesus Christ, take my life, take all of me" (United 2004)
"And I love you/ more than life" (United 2004)
"All that I am/ unto you I surrender/ Lord there is none like you" (United 2002)
"Knees to the earth/ I bow down/ to everything you are" (Passion 2003)
