QUICKLY LOOKS AWAY.
"There's nothing wrong! Go about your business!"
((For Sadistic!AU if you want!)) "Please don't hurt me!"
Sadistic!AU
The DWN froze at the words that came from Shadow’s mouth— he wouldn’t dare lay a single hand on the third line with the intention of seriously harming them, and certainly not within their current circumstances.
He looked ready to move toward Shadow, and he did— taking a step or so forward, but stopping himself. Advancing toward Shadow would likely give off the impression that he was trying to hurt him.
"I’m not going to hurt you, Shadow." Snake said gently. "…I would never hurt you."
"Ah... there are a lot of people here! Uh, make yourselves at home, I guess! (Geez, why did I have to be the only one home right now?)"
Break || CLOSED; AU
They'd settled into a comfortable routine over the past few weeks: The sound of the bell in the door's tinkling would alert Alto to his little brother's arrival, and while he couldn't exactly ditch the floor to go say hello he would give a tired smile and wave before going back to whatever it was he was doing at the time. As soon as he finished his task (for his coworkers knew he didn't like to be disturbed while in the middle of things), he would be forced into taking a break and head over to his brother's table to spend it with him.
Today was no such exception. Alto had missed the bell, having been busy bringing up more cups from the store room, but his coworkers hadn't. After he'd set the box down the gaggle of teenage girls used him off the floor, insisting the other manager present would be called if they needed the help. With a quiet sigh and an exasperated smile the redhead clocks out, figuring he'd treat Blake today and buying him a slice of coffee cake.
Setting it down before him, Alto grins and slides into the seat across from him.
"Hey, kiddo. How was school today?"
"...Hold on. Guys, guys-- Quick's not answering the messages I'm sending him--"
Looks like Crash's worry is growing with each passing minute. The DWN began to search around the fortress.
>Does anyone know where he was last?!
"I hear you're finally out of trouble, Crash Man."
“WELL I’M GOING TO GET RIGHT BACK INTO IT BECAUSE APPARENTLY FLASHMAN BUILT HIMSELF A HAND.”
toserveanewmaster replied to your post:"…My helmet has gone missing." Guess who’s not...
"I assume that’s a problem, then?"
Oh, no--
Of course it'd be Shadow Man to discover him like this. Not only is he of the third line, he'd been the one they'd had to go out of their way to recruit. Thus the fact that the DWN has been caught looking as unprofessional as possible is nothing short of mortifying. Metal feels his face heat up something fierce, and he glances away to try and hide this. No need to make this any more embarrassing than it already is...
"...It... It is, yes. Have you seen it anywhere, by... Any chance?"
Don't comment on the hair, Shadow. Please don't.
> This is DWN-009, pagining DWN-010 through 024; We've received Heat Man's report and the orders from Dr. Wily are to stay out of it and only get involved should the DLNs fail. Now that this information has been given to us, I am making the decision to ask that Shadow Man return to base until further notice; I do not want to run the risk of any of our brothers being harmed now that we have orders. Another means of keeping tabs on the situation will be devised. The rest I leave up to our leader, who is free to override this at any opportunity. Thank you for your time.
