Seconding, readreedred’s comment this is super interesting. (Also how/can I comment on ptsdven’s comment? Newbie here.) Curious, because don’t you have a legal name you ‘have’ to use for checks to keep things official? Although signing a letter or PM yeah… that I’d get. (And now I’m wondering if I can you Ven or your full account name now…? Oh right Ven was the group system I believe? so hopefully okay to use that as your default name, I hope? ^^;
1) if you’re asking how I’m doing a reply like this, the answer is that it’s a browser extension called XKit that gives me the option of “replying as a post” to a comment someone leaves on a post on my blog. I can’t do it to comments left on other people blog, however, so the best way to reply “at” a person is to do @[blog name], which works even in the comments section. Another common option that people take is that they reblog a post and add their comments as a new addition to the post, and then other people do the same and you get the conversational reblogs that are passed around.
2) So the thing with at least Ven -- the body’s Legal Name does not match any of the Alters’ names. I’m not sure if that’s prevalent amongst the community or not, but that’s what I know Ven’s situation is. It means that they all need to remember what the Legal Name actually is in order to sign anything, hence my advice to just make an official Signature Scribble that the group practices, which will help with a significant amount of basic paperwork like checks and so on.
3) “Ven” is actually one of the Alters, and is also what’s known as the “system core”, so using Ven to refer to the System is something they accept. Otherwise Seryph is the System Name. You can read more on his about page. (For more details on what system core is/means, you’ll need to wait for tomorrow when Ven and I are both up and awake again, but essentially it’s exactly what it sounds like.)
