Noah was frightened himself, if he was honest. 

The way Eva sounded though, he couldn’t show it. She was right; he was the calm head in this. He had to think of something.

They were on their way to the other side of the island, per the jacka-er.. Chris’ request- when they both fell through the ground into an old mine shaft. Who knew these were even here. 

The bookworm glanced around at their surroundings, trying to get his bearings. “I-uh..”

 Clearing his throat gave him at least a small chance to calm his voice before speaking with her.

“O-ok. So, this is a worker’s mine. There’s always a main entrance and at least two moving exits; one for ore and one for equipment… We just need to find one of those-” He hoped. Glancing back over to Eva as best as he could, Noah tried to hide the pain in his side as he slowly inhaled and exhaled. 

“-Hey, You aren’t injured are you?”

As it stands, he merely staggered over to a nearby tree and leaned on it, holding his head with both hands and whining. He must’ve frightened one of the moose, as it had hauled off and kicked him in the side of the head before running off. 

Zeke didn’t really blame it, honestly.. He just wished the forest would stop spinning. 

Wait, what was that red thing? 

He tried concentrating on it, but soon squinted his eyes shut, letting out another whine.

No, he wasn’t alright. Not at all. 

He thought he could make it home in time. Just ignore the smell of the fresh meat walking around him.. until he got about an hour or so into walking in the crowd. 

The hunger pains started ripping through him. He almost reached out to grab a passing woman, but clamped his arms around his stomach in attempt to control himself. 

When he came up to the first alleyway he saw, he ducked into it, for fear of harming someone. After the coast was clear, he dropped to his knees, trying his damnest to talk his way out of the hunger.

After he cautioned the girl, she stayed and asked if he was ok. Why wasn’t she running? Why didn’t she leave?

A half groan escaped him before he could speak. “L-lady, you need to go. I’m.. I’m just sick, ok?”

Well, he was feeling sick, so he didn’t lie to her.
