@tothevoid-andback said: ‘ forgiveness does not take up much room ’ - Hawke
The bustling of the Herald’s Rest nearly drowned out Hawke’s voice, but it was so distinct, that Eden knew it anywhere---a similar effect of Varric’s voice. Eden had looked over to the Champion with a curious glance.
Had he looked discontented? Perhaps he needed to practice smiling more, but he couldn’t deny that he was utterly exhausted and had been for a long time. While it wasn’t uncommon to be tired of the mind--work and the state of the world brought its own set of stresses, but what afflicted Eden wasn’t so much a mental exhaustion, but one of the heart--a weariness that budded when he was a lad--only to have it grow throughout the years.
It must have been evident on his freckled face for have Hawke speak so personally. It initially caught Eden off guard, and in a moment of reaction, he just simply smiled as he held his empty serving tray close to his chest.
“Aye? Does it naught?” He replied quietly as he took a few steps towards the other. He gave a non nonchalant shrug of his broad shoulders.
“ Ah was nae aware that the Champion oof Kirkwall was also a philosopher.” He dismissed playfully and looked away for a moment, his mismatched eyes of green and blue finding the empty glass on the adjacent table suddenly interesting.
“ And pray tell, Serah Hawke, whit forgiveness should ah be carryin’?”
