Can’t believe I never posted one of my main characters here, Toukata! Couldn’t find anything with them on my main so they’re going here.

Ok, now for several posts detailing stuff.
Firstly, the reason Toukata’s wings are so simple in comparison with their parents’ is genetics! Think of it like the rex gene in rats; one inherited rex allele gives the rat pup wavy fur, but two rex alleles results in a hairless, or partially hairless rat.
In Toukata’s case they inherited two alleles connected to their wing pattern, which led to just having the simple yellow eye spots. Said spots come from Nahar’s side, but gain their coloration from Dalran.
