everybody posting about how nothing could ever entice them to watch the gay hockey show is so real because i literally was saying that up to the very moment i watched it. bc who cares about hockey. men are so overplayed too. like men + sports? wow groundbreaking! who gives a shit. when are we gonna talk about dykes? but then one by one all of my respected mutuals went down which i noticed bc i immediately filtered the tag without knowing anything on principle of hating to be annoyed and so every other post was filtered out i was like damn fr? and i pressed play on episode one. the rest is history. anyway i have been riding the high this show has given me for weeks. sometimes a silly little hockey show can do that. beautiful.

the “sometimes i think i would’ve told them already…” “oh, so this is my fault?” exchange is so juicy to me probably because i’ve experienced pretty much exactly this situation before but. you have parents who love you and who you are close to but there is a lot about you that they don’t know and they would probably be fine about it but. it’s just somehow still so hard to tell them you’re gay. and then as soon as you are a viable age to have non-high school romantic/sexual experiences this whole thing happens not with some random nice montreal guy who would be super easy to take home and explain to your parents but with someone they already have massive preconceived notions of and who has a career and reputation of his own to protect and cannot come out of the closet for his own safety. it is veryyyy hard to be like mom i’m gay, but don’t ask any follow ups and no i can’t tell you who i’m with or who i’ve ever been with in the past because it’s been the same asshole all this time who you guys hate and everyone in the public apparently thinks i hate too and i’m in love with him and it’s a lot to explain
