TOVARNIK – Danas 31. siječnja 2018. godine obilježavamo „Dan kada je Tovarnik plakao“. Riječ je o spomenu na 31. siječnja 1998. godine kada su na mjesnom groblju pokopani posmrtni ostaci 48 mještana ekshumirani iz masovne grobnice. Tovarnik je prije 25 godine dao veliku žrtvu u stvaranju slobodne i neovisne Hrvatske. Imena njih 72 na spomen obilježju trajno podsjećaju na žrtvu koju su podnijeli.

TOVARNIK – Tomislav Merčep jučer (u četvrtak 12. svibnja 2016.) je na zagrebačkom Županijskom sudu nepravomoćno osuđen na pet godina i šest mjeseci zatvora. Predsjednik sudskog vijeća Zdravko Majerović kazao je da je Merčep kriv jer pripadnike postrojbe na kojim je imao faktičku ovlast nije spriječio u zločinima, dajući im time prešutno odobrenje za nedjela i za vrijeme dok nije bio na terenu.

CROATIA. Tovarnik. 2015. Muhanid at the train station on the Croatian-Serbian border. It was over 100 degrees fahrenheit and thousands of migrants waited for trains to take them to Zagreb, while Croatian riot police kept them fenced in. A promised train never materialized and after hours of waiting in the baking sun without food or water a surging crowd crashed through the police lines. They spent the rest of the day seeking shade in a field and in the shadow of farm silos. By evening buses began taking them to Zagreb.
